The most recent Q magazine counts down the 100 Greatest Albums of the 21st Century, and American Idiot was listed as #7. Seth Green talked about why he thought this album deserved to be on the list:

'I was very excited to see Green Day put out American Idiot, because I love that band. It seemed they relaxed in the early 00's, and then all these other bands, whether it was Blink-182 or Sum 41, any of these pop-punk bands, came through. With this, Green Day came back and went, by the way, this is how your make a fucking record. It's such a complete concept album. Excellent and very listenable.'
