[pic=Mike Dirnt live]090413_dirnt.jpg[/pic]Just a couple hours ago, Melbourne, Australia radio station Triple M interviewed Mike Dirnt about Green Day's upcoming trip to Australia for the Soundwave Festival.

Mike talks about the band's past year in regards to getting back on their feet and touring again by starting with small shows and transitioning into bigger shows.
I look at the things that have happened to other bands. We went through some shit that real people go through and we're back out there ready to kick some ass, playing music.
The interviewer mentions to Mike the 10th and 20th anniversaries of American Idiot and Dookie. He asks if there is anything special planned.
We played Dookie at Reading to celebrate what's coming up. It's pretty incredible to be thinking about it. The time really has flown by. I never wanted to be in a band that only played the newest stuff that you're doing. Any chance to play these songs we haven't played live in forever is a good enough excuse for me.

The first time we did Dookie in its entirety we decided 20 minutes before we went on stage [in Serbia]. You know, the 20 year anniversary is coming up, let's try it tonight. It was kind of hard because I was trying to practice a few of the things I didn't remember.
