Billboard has updated their music charts for this past week of radio airplay and Green Day's "Bang Bang" has retained its spot atop of the Mainstream Rock Songs chart. This marks the sixth week at #1 on the chart for the lead single from Revolution Radio.

"Bang Bang" is now charting at #1 on another Billboard chart: Rock Airplay. The song had been sitting at #2 for several weeks behind twenty one pilots' track "Heathens."

Other relevant charts:

Alternative Songs: #3 (same as last week) | Chart
Hot Rock Songs: #12 (up from #14 last week) | Chart

The song has already been out for two months so it's great to see that it's still performing well and making gains across radio stations in the US at the time Revolution Radio was released last Friday. No word yet from the band or the radio industry on a second single from the album.

Speaking of the album, Billboard is reporting that it is on-track to debut at #1 on their Top 200 albums chart. This would be Green Day's third #1 album in their career, alongside of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. Billboard will announce this past week's Top 200 albums at the end of this weekend. We'll be sure to report the good news when it does come official.
