On Monday, Pierce the Veil unveiled a newly recorded cover of a Green Day song for Spotify Landmarks' series Green Day: The Early Years, which wrapped up last week.

The rock band has recorded a cover of Green Day's "Coming Clean" off of 1994's Dookie. It is a beautiful, stripped down version that includes only vocals, guitar, and a string quartet.

The song is available to steam exclusively on Spotify. Click here to listen to the song (or stream using the player below) if you're a subscriber.

Pierce the Veil shared on their Instagram that this is the first time they have ever used a real string quartet on a Pierce the Veil recording.

As a big Pierce the Veil fan, I absolutely love this cover. Vic's vocals sound great and the lyrics seem to resonate more when the arrangement is toned down like this. Props to the band for coming up with this great arrangement.

Pierce the Veil joins a list of other bands who have released Green Day covers for the Spotify Landmarks series. Last week, Neck Deep, Bayside, and Taking Back Sunday all released covers from Dookie. Listen to those in our post from last week.
