Here's a roundup of Green Day news tidbits you may have missed during our brief hiatus:

Happy anniversaries!
American Idiot and ¡Uno! celebrated birthdays in September (they're 14 and 5 years old, respectively) and several albums had October anniversaries: Warning (Oct. 3, 18 years), Revolution Radio (Oct. 7, 2 years), Insomniac (Oct. 10, 23 years) and nimrod. (21 years).

Billie at the Ramones Tribute
As previously reported, Billie Joe participated in the 2018 Johnny Ramone Tribute in August with an acoustic performance.

A hot cup of tunes
Green Day continues to regularly update its "Oakland Coffee" playlist on Spotify. The latest installment includes a variety of the band's favorite artists, as well as its own music and side projects. Check it out below or click here to open it on Spotify.

Hot Topic merch
There's some new Green Day merch available at Hot Topic, including T-shirts, hoodies and an exclusive set of three Titans vinyl figures of Billie Joe, Mike and Tré from the American Idiot era. Be sure to check out the items as everything is currently on sale.

I'm from Oakland
When a Twitter video surfaced of New York Yankees fan pouring beer on an Oakland Athletics fan during a baseball playoff game, Billie Joe was quick to jump to his defense on Instagram. In a now-unavailable Instagram post, Billie Joe explained the guy, John Spencer, was a drummer from the Bay Area who he's known for years and encouraged his followers to "make him feel awesome and show him some love." Eventually, the Athletics were able to contact John and offer him some merch that isn't soaked in beer.

Longshot EP released
If you're still sad that The Longshot Tour has ended (who isn't?), head over to the band's online store and pick up a fresh new vinyl for just under $20.

Icelandic death metal revival
And if you want to avoid sleeping tonight, Tré, aka “Bjorn Roarkson,” has posted some photos on Instagram of a recent Dead Mermaids concert in support of the "Icelandic death metal" band's new five-track EP, "You’re Welcöme."

Green Day on the green
In other Tré news, he was spotted sporting an Oakland Coffee hat Sept. 10 at the Sheckler Foundation's 11th Annual Ryan Sheckler Oakley Golf Tournament. The event benefited the California-based Sheckler Foundation's Be The Change initiative, which helps children and injured action sports athletes.

Return of The Coverups
Last, but not least, cover band The Coverups reunited for another show at the Uptown in Oakland Sept. 30. The band features Green Day members Billie Joe on vocals and guitar and Mike Dirnt on guitar and vocals, touring guitarist Jason White on guitar and vocals, long-time Green Day guitar tech and manager Bill Schneider on bass and Green Day audio engineer Chris Dugan.

The show featured a cover of Rick Springfield song "Jessie's Girl" not once, not twice... but three times.
