It seems GreenDay.com is working on a new site. They posted up this banner saying that Green Day is going to work with the NRDC, and a new site from them will be coming soon. We'll keep you guys updated. Click here to learn more about the NRDC.
As we mentioned (here), Billie Joe joined Elvis Costello and other musicians last month in Atlantic City to film Decades Rock Live for Vh1. The show is set to air on July 21st on Vh1 Classic. A visitor who attented the show says they played Time of your Life, Wake Me Up, Basketcase and a couple other songs.
We started selling the new GDA sticker last night, and it sold out within 7 hours. Sheesh. Thanks to everyone who got one, and we apologize to all of those who didn't get a chance. We will have some more later on in the month of July - both some new sayings, and some with the other two we've sold so far.
Thanks to all of you who have wished me a happy birthday here, on the forum, through email or myspace. It's made this day just a little more exciting - which is saying quite a bit if you knew how boring my days can be.
Hey guys, I've updated the Green Day's tattoos page. If anyone has any other good pictures of the guy's tattoos, or any information that is not included, please feel free to e-mail me.
We have a great new editorial up written by one of our visitors. The topic; Are Green Day Punk?. It's a very well written article, so I invite you all to read it.
We've already sold out of stickers. They went a whole lot faster than I expected. We have some new ones coming in late next week, but with a different phrase.
GDA now has some stickers for sale. The first batch (as you can see above) says "I'd rather be at a Green Day concert." You can click here to order some. Shipping is the same worldwide. We have some stickers with different sayings coming in over the next few weeks.
The results of the last poll have been posted here, along with a new question.
And lastly, the first four entries in our new contest have been posted up for you guys to listen to. We've gotten lots of emails on these two questions, so I'll answer them here. 1) The contest will end in two weeks. Wenesday June 28th. 2) No you don't have to sing to enter. However, if you do an instrumental, make it different and unique in some way so you have a shot to win.

The merchandise section has been updated again. I got the "Most Viewed Items" thing working.
Now in the "what the fuck" category: According to this article from BBC, a girl recognized a real grenade in her lawn because of her American Idiot t-shirt. As heart-warming as that may sound, since when is the military making heart-shaped grenades? And why the hell does a 12 year old not know what a grenade looks like?!
We have also updated our donate to GDA page with our mailing address for people who would rather send their donations via the post office. All needed information is posted there.
We have a winner for of our giveaway, but we'll wait to announce the persons name till they reply back to us. So the next contest is being pushed back a day, and we'll give you guys all the details to enter our next contest tomorrow.
There is a little (and i mean really little) mention of Billie Joe and his son Joey in the newest People Magazine. It's like "Match the kid" - it's pretty lame. Here's the scan. I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you want to see pictures of Brad and Angelina's new baby.
Today is the last day to enter our giveaway. If you don't win in this one, don't worry, we're starting another contest tomorrow. Expect exact details then. Just as a hint, musicians get your recording gear ready again.
Update 10:22pm: We fixed some problems with our news updates in our RSS feed and our toolbar. It should be updating normal again.

Green Day was supposed to play a show in Paris last November, but the show got postponed and people were told to hold onto their tickets till the show was rescheduled. We got confirmation that they have no plans to reschedule the show, and everyone who bought tickets should go back to their ticket vendor and get a refund.
Vendors have been told to refund everyone who bought tickets beforehand for that show. If any of you that try to get a refund have any problems with your vendor, feel free to contact us and we can help you out further.
Sorry about the late update, I've been working on updating the autographs section with a cleaner layout, as well as some new autographs sent in by some visitors. If you have an autographed item that you'd like us to post, read the instructions at the bottom of that section.

I've been wanting to get an editorial section on GDA, where we'll have some of our own articles - written by us and other users. So I decided to write up the first one, and figured it was appropriate to make it about people going on other sites to defend Green Day. Read it here.
Want some more fun reading? Read UrbanDictionary's entry for Green Day Fan.
We mentioned an article here a few days back about Green Day's next album to be an "event". You can read the same thing over and over on all of these sites: Here, here, here, here, and here. If that doesn't keep you busy, you can read the comments on the article from PunkNews.org where a lot of their visitors are saying Green Day are getting too full of themselves.
You might notice the icon on the top-right of our news now. That is for our "headlines" feature that we setup for an easy way to read-up on all our latest news entries. It's just a cleaner way to keep track of the news.
As we mentioned a couple days ago, we started adding links to our links section again. So if you want your site added, click here and follow the instructions.

In this article from VH1, Green Day talks about working on the new album and also about the American Idiot movie. From the article:
For us, everything that we do is completely, 100 percent passion- and energy-driven, so however we're going to come out with our next album, just be certain it's going to be an event, not just putting a record out
He added that they are in the studio together often just working on new ideas. He also said this about the idea to turn the album into a movie:
"It's definitely unfolding," Armstrong said. "Every single week there's more ideas about doing a film for American Idiot, and it's definitely going to happen."
Last week we asked you guys if you thought they should do the movie, your votes have been posted in the poll section along with a new question.

Green Day made it into Kerrang!’s Top 25 Bands of Our Lifetime. They came in at number 5, behind AC DC, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Iron Maiden. They were given the sub-title "The biggest punk band of all time". But number 5 of all the bands in the world? That's definitely a damned good place to be. Here's the scan from the article in Kerrang!. The words a pretty small, so you'll have to read closely, but we'll try to get a higher quality scan soon. None-the-less, our thanks to Sazzrah for getting that scan to us so quickly.
Tomorrow we will be launching a really nice new feature on GDA. You will need the latest version of the Flash player to view it. So you should download it here when you get the chance. Ooo I like surprises!!

Today is Memorial Day here in the United States. 2,464 of our troops have died in Iraq, and there are still over 130,000 troops over there and thousands more in Afghanistan. Each has their own story, their own friends, and their own family members who worry about their well being every day. Whether you support this war or not, I think it's very important for us to remember all of them today. All of those who have put their personal lives on hold and put the courage forward to fight for their own country, regardless of their personal beliefs.
A simple thank you seems hardly sufficient for what you do, but none the less; Thanks. We hope each of you comes back home safely.
Green Day won Best Album for the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards on May 25th.

And remember, your comment will not show up right away. It will first need to be approved by us, but don't worry, we'll get around to them all. So click the "Comments" link below to add your comment or to read comments already posted.

I am really proud of our past, but to become an institution - as long as it's on our terms and there's a real creative pulse - that's where we're headed. I can't think of anything better in life than being a rock star.
MTV posted an article asking celebrities who they think should be the next American Idol winner. Green Day had no opinion on the show, but they did suggest that the presidential elections should be run the way Idol does. Read here.
