There's a wonderful new interview with Billie Joe from Spinner.com. He talks about why he used names in this album like Christian and Gloria, the TV shows he's addicated to, what actors he'd choose to play the characters from the album, and also about some things like if Green Day would enter the Hall of Fame and his feelings about the future.

There's a sexy new Epiphone guitar up for auction with Green Day's autograph with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit Habitat for Humanity. There's 18 days left in the auction, from charitybuzz.com.

The German Green Day site posted up a very short 20 second preview of the new music video (which premiers next week), click here to watch it.

According to Best Buy.com, Bullet in a Bible will be released in HD on Blu-Ray May 28th.

Check out this pretty great video guitar tutorial of "Know Your Enemy" by our newest affliate, Adrian Tracks.com.

How about that sexy new GDA image sitting right below the news? Thanks to our newest graphic designer, day1_9 for designing it.
Green Day will be playing for a week straight on Last Call with Carson Daly in June. Exact dates were not released, just the general time-line for June. For the single release, Sydney radio station Nova 96.9 has a short video interview on the forum.

There is a new TV promo out for the album posted on YouTube. Nice production quality, and I thought it was pretty cool. Most people on the forum disagreed.

The pre-order for the full album made it to #4 on iTunes. Not bad for an album that isn't even out for another month. If you pre-order on iTunes, you get 4 bonus songs. They don't give the titles for them, 2 are only titled "Bonus Track" the other 2 are titled "Bonus Track (Pre-Order Only)". Click here to view the listing in iTunes.

The b-side to the single is called "Lights Out", according to Amazon and this listing for an import of the single CD, which will be out April 28th (you can pre-order it now, for $10)

You can purchase the single on Amazon for 99 cents, click here. Amazon also has an import version of the full album for $48, which includes "Extra tracks". It doesn't say how many or the titles. Of course the regular version of the album is also available for pre-order for $10 from Amazon, which is currently #23 in Music.

The b-sides will be available for purchase online, but the release date of those hasn't been confirmed yet. We'll be sure to post it as soon as we know.

If you scroll down to the bottom right 'Stats' section, you can see how many people are currently on GDA. Pointless, but whatever, I like watching it.

Radio stations all over the world are finally playing Know Your Enemy, and you can find it on iTunes here. You can pre-order the album from iTunes, and it comes with 2 bonus songs, and you'll get the single today. Or, if you prefer, you can just purchase Know Your Enemy for $1.29. Green Day is on the home page of iTunes with the banner on the right.

Here's the song for those of you who want to listen to it.

Fucking brillant. By the way, I'm kinda pissed off because my friend decided to tell me this morning that a radio station in our area played the song late last night, and apparently got in trouble for doing so!

There was news going around about a Green Day show in New York City at the Bowery Ballroom on May 18 to celebrate the new album release. Billboard has an article about it here, so apparently it is happening. Alright, who's going with me? US East Coast Unite!

A lot of people are asking, when the hell is the Know Your Enemy single coming? It was confirmed that the single will be available for download on iTunes and Amazon today, yet Amazon says it will be available on April 17th. No sign of it yet on iTunes. My suggestion is to check your local radio station's page to see if they have it up on when they will be premiering the song. My favorite radio station WMMR Philadelphia says it will premiere on the Preston and Steve show, which is in the morning. Some other people are telling me their stations are going for 6AM, 8AM, and I've heard 10AM. In Austraila, I'm hearing 7PM. Hopefully by that time iTunes and Amazon will have their shit straight and we will all have Know Your Enemy playing on repeat in our iTunes and whatever your favorite mp3 player of choice is.

Sorry I don't have any updates about the show tonight. Amazingly, I haven't really heard anything about the show and what's going on. We'll have an update tomorrow after we both get some rest.

Hrmm...I guess an actual single is available, and you can order it here. It includes Know Your Enemy and Lights Out.

There's yet another Green Day secret show tonight at Uptown in Oakland, CA. The cost is $20, cash only, no presale. The doors open at 8:00PST and the show starts at 10:00PST. According to DJ Rosstar and Live 105, the line has already started. So if you're lucky enough, again, to live in this area, get your butt over there! And send us updates like all the people did last night. :) Oh and if anyone wants to pick me up a t-shirt or an extra one of those lyrics books, it'd be appreciated. C'mon, I'll pay ya back! Just let me know if you can first. I have no shame! :)

There's some more pictures and a review from last night's show here at Rolling Stone. Here's another review of last night's show. And one more by Gabe Meline who also took some amazing pictures. They were all added to the Picture Vault.

UPDATE 5:34PM EST: Another review from Spin about last night. I put those pictures in the Picture Vault. No word from the people lining up at tonight's secret show. Probably too early yet for any excitement.

Welcome back. Is everyone who stayed up really late with me all rested up and ready for the day? Yeah, me neither.

I reported last night on my Twitter that the photos are still pouring in. They are, and as I've promised I added more to our Picture Vault. Still waiting for some reviews and to hear word from Andres, but since the last thing I read is that he made it to the hotel, I'm betting he's catching up on some sleep before he catches the next plane out of there.

There are a couple of videos of the show floating around You Tube right now. If you want to, catch them before they are removed. To be honest, I can barely hear what they are saying, but then again, my concentration is low right now due to lack of sleep.

I'm sure there will be more updates today to let you guys know what else is going on. Check back soon.

Oh, and congratulations to whomever makes the first comment!

UPDATE 12:PM EST: Wow, actually not related to last night! If you're one of the people who loved the cover to the Know Your Enemy single, then check out this wicked shirt made just for you!

Hey everyone! Hopefully, we'll get to go participate soon in all the Green Day excitement first hand like the lucky folks in the East Bay, CA. C'mon Green Day, give us east coasters some love! Better yet, let's get this world tour on its way.......it's been 5 years! We're ready. In the meantime folks, enjoy Andres' updates from Twitter on the right side of GDA.

There is a really awesome review of the DNA Lounge show on April 9, 2009 at NBC Bay Area. The review is fantastic, and it includes pictures, and 2 videos of Green Day playing "Viva La Gloria" and "Live at Indy". The reviewer also talks about the new songs, and even compares "Know Your Enemy" to a My Chemical Romance song...which I don't see the resemblance but oh well. The one downside about the article, the reviewer refers to our favorite front man as Billy Joe. He's in one of the biggest bands of the last (almost) two decades, can't you spell his name right?! Geez...

There's already a website for the American Idiot play, which you can purchase tickets now for the upcoming shows in September. The event is being held at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berekely, CA, and the tickets are $32-54 each. Click here for more information. And check out the sweet video there as well. Andres already mentioned this website in a small part of an update, but I thought it deserved more attention.

UPDATE: I'm trying to keep up with the flood of new information that's coming in from the show right now. So far, Andres has noted that there are special 21st Century Break Down t-shirts being sold. Also, everyone who is at the show received a booklet of lyrics and artwork from the new album. Andres will take a picture when there is better lighting. I'm updating the Picture Vault with photos as I receive them. You have a couple of Twitters you can follow for updates too, Andres' Twitter, Courtney's Twitter, and GDA's Twitter.

The show tonight is being recorded. Several people have reported being filmed and asked to sign waivers for a DVD, and Andres spotted cameras all over the place.

UPDATE @ 12:18AM EST: Just got word Green Day is now starting the show. More pictures loaded in the Picture Vault. I'm finding pictures all over the place. Please let me know if one of them is yours if you'd like credit. E-mail me here.

You can read the play by play and how it went down on my update, which I'm gonna leave up.

Green Day's next show is tonight in Oakland at the Fox Theater. I get to go! I couldn't be more excited!! While i don't expect we'll be able to take any pictures, I'll update before and after the show on twitter. Full review on Wednesday when I recuperate. I'm flying out early today, watching the show, flying back early Wednesday. My biggest thanks to Greg and Pat for helping me out.

I'd like to meet as many of you as possible. I'll be wearing a shirt that says "Pensive" (because that's my favorite shirt to wear to a show and easily recognizable). So definitely come up and say hi.

I'm sure the forum will be busy with any updates during the show for those of you wanting to find some.

There are some amazing photos posted up from the show last week at the DNA Lounge website. The pictures were taken by John Adams and Jamie Zawinski. We mentioned that a professional photographer was there, glad to see the photos came out pretty quickly.

MTV.com posted up a short behind the scenes video for "Know Your Enemy". The video will premiere April 24 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, VH1, The N and MTV Networks' HD channel, Palladia — plus MTV and VH1's international channels — in addition to MTV.com and VH1.com.

Apparently the video is US-only. Visit the forum to see if someone will be able to share the video on YouTube or something.

Only 3 more days till we get the single.

Update 9pm: GreenDay.com got a new design.

We've seen a lot of comments from people focusing attention on the fact that "American Eulogy : Mass Hysteria" has the word "nigger" in it.
The punch line is a natural disaster
And it's sung by the unemployed
Because the martyr is a compulsive liar
When he said
"It's just a bunch of niggers throwing gas into the hysteria"

Let's not forget that Billie used "faggot" in American Idiot, and when using words that are loaded like that, he does it for a reason. In American Eulogy, he's using it in a quote, where I think he's talking about hurricane Katrina and how to some felt like the government wrote off the disasters severity because of class and race. Billie Joe knows how to use powerful words, negative or positive, to get the feelings across that he’s writing about. He’s not using it as a way to demean anyone, he’s using it to criticize the people who would say something like that.

I’ll be pretty bugged if a big deal is made about this when it’s released. I know the people who will flip out about it will not be the people who try to appreciate Billie’s writing for what it is. Not since ‘Warning’ have I felt that Billie Joe reached this far into the poetic side of writing. And I’m pretty happy and surprised about how dark this album feels. After reading the lyrics, you really can appreciate Billie Joe’s summary, "The best way I can describe it right now is that it's like an apocalyptic angry mob with a city on fire and flashing lights while making out with your girlfriend."

Lets make sure we don't have Kanye West on TV saying "Green Day doesn't care about black people"

GreenDay.com has posted up the track list and lyrics for the new album. The official site has all the lyrics broken up into their own pages, with some artwork accompanying each one. For a standard page with just the lyrics, visit this page.

Here's the track list:

Act I :: Heroes and Cons
Song Of The Century
21st Century Breakdown
Know Your Enemy
!Viva La Gloria!
Before The Lobotomy
Christian's Inferno
Last Night On Earth

Act II :: Charlatans and Saints
East Jesus Nowhere
Peacemaker
Last Of The American Girls
Murder City
?Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)
Restless Heart Syndrome

Act III :: Horseshoes and Handgrenades
Horseshoes and Handgrenades
The Static Age
21 Guns
American Eulogy
  a) Mass Hysteria
  b) Modern World
See The Light

That's right. 18 songs! Many of you are writing in, asking what happened to "March of the Dogs", the band changed that songs title to "East Jesus Nowhere". Still there, just different title.

The Idiot Club announced earlier that Green Day’s next show will be at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA on Tuesday, April 14th. The first 100 Idiot Club members to enter will get added to the “will call” list and have tickets saved for you (and 1 guest). Tickets are $49 each. Visit the Idiot Club for the details to get in.

Tickets will go on sale at 5pm on Monday for the general public. If you guys get to go, we expect pictures (if they allow them), and some reviews!

UPDATE: All the photos from the GreenDay.com lyrics pages have been uploaded to our Picture Vault. Thanks to Marlon_GD from the forum for posting them. Also, the Nimrod of the Week has been choosen for this week. Congratulations Harry! Remember if you were not choosen this week or would like to apply, have your entry in by next Sunday. - Courtney

There are 8 new promo shots of Green Day that have been released. They were taken by photographer Marina Chavez, who took this picture and this picture of Billie Joe and Adrienne back in 2006. . We've posted them all up in the Picture Vault for you guys.

"Know Your Enemy" will be the first single off the new album, and will be coming out April 16th. We posted about this on April 2nd, but it's official now. We believe there might be a physical CD release for the single, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. The song will be available April 16th for download from sites like iTunes and Amazon.

Here's a great review from one our forum members who was able to attend the show on the 9th at the DNA Lounge.

Doesn't it feel like all of this is happening very quickly? We wait for 5 years for it to come, and the last month (last two weeks specifically) feel like a rush of info. In less than a week we get the first single, then the week after that, the world-premiere of Green Day's first music video in 4 years.

Things are just starting, and it's a blast. Now, watch this great video of the full version of "Viva La Gloria" from the show on April 7th.

The New York times wrote up this piece about last nights show. When mentioning the news songs they say the "often melancholy songs chronicle the lives of a young couple living in the first, tumultuous years of this century".

Here's another review from Mercury News.

Troy Blanchard did a really great write-up of the first show on April 7th for JamBase.com. Probably one of the best reviews we've seen from the shows, definitely take a moment to read it.

Don't forget you guys can join Green Day's official Street Team at teamgreenday.com. You'll get some stickers and posters shipped out for you to spread out and help get the word out about the new album, and they'll be doing some giveaways later on for some rare Green Day stuff.

The news we posted earlier about about Green Day playing in New York on May 18th was incorrect, and not confirmed with the band.

Green Day will be playing another show tonight at at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco.

Idiot Club members should visit the Idiot Club for details on getting tickets. More updates will come later tonight.

Update 4:09AM: Looks like the show just ended. Still no updates from people who attended. But we'll be sure to update once we get something in. Sounds like a similar set to a couple nights ago, most of the new album then ending with an hour of the older stuff. Some people who attended said they messed up some of the old stuff, and pulled up someone on stage to help sing one of the songs.

You can read the setlist on the forum.

There was a professional photographer at the show taking pictures, hopefully they'll released by the band soon.

There definitely weren't as many photos and updates last night, apparently security was a lot more strict with cameras. You can find some photos over at 1039 Sweet Children

There's a new group photo that was released on the German Warner site (and fansite) yesterday. Gotta love the ties. View the photo here.

Green Day's show a couple nights ago at The Independent was the first time in 3 years (and 4 months) the band played a show as Green Day (last show was December 2005 in Melbourne Australia). We’ve had plenty to keep us busy between then, with Pinheads tour last year, then Foxboro Hot Tubs tour in May of 2008 – but it’s still really refreshing to see a ticket with the words "GREEN DAY" on it. The site has been incredibly busy with tons of people stopping by looking for details from last night, so we’ll sum everything a bit more organized below.

We’ve gotten emails from people who attended and shared some details about the setlist. If you’re curious about what songs they played, visit this thread on the forum. The first part of the show they played nearly all of 21st Century Breakdown. The last hour they played a bunch of older songs spanning their entire career. There’s even a couple photos there of the setlist the band was using (they didn’t stick to it because they took some requests).

We’ve gotten in some really great photos from the night. Right now we have over 50 pictures from the show in the picture vault. Thanks to everyone who’s been kind enough to send them in, or allowed us to post them.

For videos, there’s a decent amount all over YouTube. Below are links to our favorites
- matedog2 - Short previews of nearly all the songs
- Full video of the new song “Desperate”
- Full video of the start of the show, "Welcome to Paradise"

We have a couple threads where people are working on the lyrics for Desperate and another for Know Your Enemy

Here's a couple articles about the show (links from Nothing Wrong With Me.com)

MercuryNews.com - "Green Day plays surprise gig"

Green Day is playing a surprise set tonight at "The Independent" in San Francisco. It was just announced earlier today, and there are no tickets available. A few people mentioned that it was announced on a local radio station. Looks like they wanted something small and intimate, so a few hundred lucky people will get to see the band mark their come-back.

Update 4:13am EST: The show ended a bit ago, was just over 2 hours. People who attended said it was a really awesome show. They opened with Welcome to Paradise, and played nearly all songs off 21st Century Breakdown, followed with older material for the last hour. Macy's Day Parade, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, etc. Any photos we're coming across are being put up in the Picture Vault. teiwaz was awesome enough to post a few videos from the show, which you can view here.

Update 6:04am EST You can find short but sweet videos of many of the new songs on this YouTube page. View them before they're taken off. East Jesus Nowhere sounds pretty damn good, of what we can hear of it. We're getting in some details about the setlist, visit the forum to read what we have.

At the start of the show, the band poses on stage for photos to be taken by people with cellphones, then Billie Joe says "now put the fucking things away". Video

SITE UPDATE: Our new Nimrod of the Week section is open. GDA veterans will remember this as the Fan of the Week, except with a spiffy new name. Thanks to the members on the forum for helping me decide on a name. - Courtney

We're on part 3 of our 'Record a Sawng' project, we're now taking both lead and backup guitar entries. Right now we have the drums and bass (Alex and Tim) which were chosen in the first 2 rounds. To hear what we have so far, click the play button on the right. Visit the contest page for details on how to submit your recording for the guitar track.

Later today GreenDay.com will be posting a clip of 'Know Your Enemy'. We'll update this news post once it's up.

Rolling Stone readers named Green Day the top color band (up against bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, White Stripes, Black Sabbath, Yellowcard, you get the idea). For the entire list read this article.

Alex P. has been chosen as the winning bass entry for the Record a Sawng project. We will begin taking guitar entries later tonight.

Video Static.com posted up this photo of the band working with director Michael Cullen on the 'Know Your Enemy' video. It's the first picture we've seen from the shoot, hopefully more will surface soon enough.

Green Day.com announced that it will be posting a couple clips of "Know Your Enemy" tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday. "+1 to them for being able to keep the song from being leaked for this long.

They've also got a new Green Day widget up on the site for people to embed on MySpace/Facebook, blogs, whatever. Right now it plays the the same short preview of '21st Century Breakdown' that is on the official site, but it will be filled in with tour dates, lyrics, and video content as it becomes available.

We are looking for a new web developer to join the GDA team. If you know HTML and CSS, visit this page to read the rest of the requirements and fill out an application.

21st Century Breakdown Special Edition is now available for pre-order. This one really is a special edition. It comes with a 60-page booklet of additional artwork, 3 10" vinyls (one for each act of the vinyl), and along with the CD, you'll get a link to download the album at 12:01am on May 15th. You can pre-order it from GreenDayMusic.com

Only 3000 prints are being made, and will cost $89.99 + shipping and handling. They will begin shipping mid-June, which is why you get the online download right after midnight on the release date.

It's pricey, but not bad considering you get 3 versions of the album in a limited edition booklet. No extra songs that we know of yet.

A 90 second preview of "Know Your Enemy" will begin the intro to the NCAA Championship Game Monday night on CBS at 9:00 PM, ET. It'll be used in a montage of basketball clips leading up to the NCAA Championship.

Yeah, it's about the last place I would have expected to get a 90 second preview of Green Day, but really, who cares? We finally get to hear at least part of the song. The single will be released online April 16th.

Article from AOL Money

Yes, we'll try to provide the clip soon after it airs for those of you who can't watch.

EW has posted up an interview with Billie Joe. They talk about all the things going on: the musical, the new album, and the tour. This line kinda reassured me about the musical when asked if there will be dancing
Not “dancing” dancing. I don’t know how to really explain it. It’s got physical and violent moves. It’s not like a Lion King thing. It’s dirty and it’s got a lot of heart and it’s got a street mentality. There are no singing cats. No little girls with big curly red hair. It should be pretty cool, man.

He also mentions that the tour should start in June in the US, and they intend on playing some of the old songs along with the new material, not just the new material. When asked if they would release any of the "odd material" they wrote (a "mix of British psychedelic-era rockers Marmalade and anarchist-punkers Crass"), Billie Joe says
I don’t know, if the economy gets any worse, maybe we’ll put that out. [...] No, I hope that’s never going to see the light of day.

Read the full interview [Thanks to Welshy for finding this]

Green Day released the artwork for the special edition of 21st Century Breakdown (only sold at GreenDay.com beginning tomorrow) and for the single of "Know Your Enemy" today. The exclusive photos were released here at AOL's Spinner.

We've expanded the size of the site to fit more content in the center column. We've decided not to design a whole new layout for the site, and instead just focus on making this one better, more user friendly, and make small changes that'll help the site evolve over time. So this change marks the beginning of that process, and you'll notice more space for news and other content. Since we're still in the process of converting all the pages over, some will look funky. You'll notice how the New Album page has already been changed to use this space more effectively, but when you visit a page that hasn't been edited, like band bio, it just looks kinda weird now. We'll be going through, page by page, to get everything updated.

Update: If the news is being cutoff, try doing a full refresh by holding down control and pressing F5.

The Record A Sawng project is also moving along again. The bass entries have been posted up for everyone to listen to, and vote on. We've included the original song, as well as the winning drum track in the background of the bass entries just to give people an idea of how the bass sounds in context with the other instruments. Go to the contest page now to listen and vote.

And finally, Mike was mentioned in an interview from UK-based "Bike Magazine". The article is focused around an independent Bike manufacturer who makes custom bikes in California, which Mike is a customer of. They talk a bit about the bike Mike bought, and it's one of those random but interesting reads. Thanks to 'HeartLykAHandGrenade' for sending in these scans.

The 'Know Your Enemy' music video will make it's big debut in less than a month, and director Matthew Cullen talked a bit about it with MTV. He said the video will be centered around a performance of the band in an urban down-town L.A., and that the performance was "huge" along with his goal of trying to showcase and interpret the lyrics.
"Oh, this was definitely the biggest video I've ever done. It has a lot of really big visuals, because I was trying to match the song, which is huge. Not to mention Green Day are an incredible group; one of the biggest in the world, and definitely one of the most significant. So I just went in there and tried to bring all of that to life.

The single should be released by "mid-April", so i would assume about 2 more weeks from now, with the video making it's premiere April 24th. This article definitely has me excited for it.

With the news yesterday that 'American Idiot' was being transformed into a play (which some of you might have missed considering GDA was down all day yesterday), many places are talking about it, and there's a few more details about it.

Turns out that Billie Joe helped write the book for the play with director Michael Mayer, and MTV quotes a statement from the band with Billie Joe saying
We are really excited to be working with Michael Mayer on this project. We'd been thinking of bringing American Idiot to the stage, but knew we needed to find the right partners. After meeting with Michael to discuss the possibility, he invited us to see 'Spring Awakening.'

We were so impressed with that production, as well as his vision for American Idiot, that we knew we'd found the perfect collaborator. Plus, doing it in our hometown at Berkeley Rep was an obvious bonus. They're an amazing theater group, very adventurous, and their willingness to take chances is in keeping with the spirit of the album. The end result will be terrific, and we're really proud."

So far, fans seems pretty split on the idea. Some really excited, some call it cringe-worthy. I'll reserve judgment till I've seen it (already got my tickets from here), I think it could be pretty amazing if done right. I also prefer the idea of this going to theater much much more than going to a movie. Writers are allowed much more creativity through theater to tell a story, much more so than film.

The other news mentioned in that article was that while the play would be based around the characters from 'American Idiot', they would be including music from other albums, including 21st Century Breakdown.

The New York Times announced that "American Idiot" has been turned into a musical and will debut in Berkley, CA at the Repertory Theater on September 4 and run through October 11th.

The musical was created by Michael Mayer, award-winning director of "Spring Awakening." The article mentions that he met with the band a couple times last year to talk about the ideas for it, and added orchestrations by Tom Kitt and choreography by Steven Haggett.

The band gave their support for the project after being convinced by Mayer that it would work. Billie Joe says "It doesn't make a lot of sense" that Green Day would lead to a musical, but when people see this, it'll be his wildest dream. The article ends with the reminder that the Who successfully turned 'Tommy' into a musical. They also mention that another band inspirational to Green Day, The Clash, never turned their "ambitious albums" into a musical, to which Billie Joe said, "I guess maybe we’re a bit more fruity than the Clash."

Rocksound Magazine has a 5 page feature marking the 20th anniversary of Green Day. Nothing new about the album, they only say that Green Day will "dominate the year" with 21CB. It is filled with a bunch of little facts about the bands career. "The bands 5 greatest gigs", "20 thing you [probably] never knew about Green Day", "5 Green Day clips you have to see". It also includes two posters.

Rocksound is a British magazine (so those of you in the UK can pick it up in stores), I'm not sure if it's available anywhere in the US. But, Rocksound actually sells copies of them on eBay for a decent price, about $13 (shipping included) to the Unites States (and other countries).

Thanks to Lola. for the scans:

Green Day's first music video from 21st Century Breakdown, "Know Your Enemy" will be premiered across MTV networks on April 24th at 8pm. "The clip will premiere at 8 p.m. ET on MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, VH1, The N, and MTV Networks' HD channel, Palladia — plus MTV and VH1's international channels — in addition to MTV.com and VH1.com. All in all, "Enemy" will debut in 134 countries across Latin America, Europe and Asia. " This is the first time MTV has done a simultaneous release across all it's networks for a music video.

The band is in Los Angeles this weekend filming the new music video. The single will be released around mid-April, so you'll be able to purchase it online before the music video is out. Here's an article from Billboard about the release.

I just got back in town from LA from the premiere of 'Heart Like a Hand Grenade'. Thanks to all of you who visited GDA for the live updates, sorry I couldn't get more out (it's very hard updating from a cell phone while a dozen other things are taking place). We are working on a full review of the movie, and our trip all together. We had an amazing time out there, and my biggest thanks to all of you who came up to me to chat. I had such a great time meeting so many Green Day fans.

Most of you want to know if a DVD will be put out. At this time, there are no plans to do that. John Roecker wants it out, but with the new album and tour coming out now, I think the band (and/or label) aren't ready for it now. We'll be talking with John to see if there's anything we (as the fans who want it out) can do anything to help him get it released. We did get some extra movie posters and will be giving them away to some visitors. Details on that early next week.

I'm currently working on getting the "Record a Sawng" project back up. Bass entries will be up later tonight.

Spin magazine has confirmed that "21st Century Breakdown"will be released May 15th, on a Friday. The story is the headline on the front page of Spin.com. They also confirm that "Know Your Enemy" will be the first single, and will be released to digital retailers (Amazon MP3, iTunes, etc.) and radio in mid-April.

Q Magazine has a new article out with an in-depth look at the creative process into 21st Century Breakdown. It's a lengthy article, covering various parts of the bands history, as well as giving us the complete list of songs (with quotes from the band about each song), and give some details . There will be 17 songs on the album (17 confirmed, the article mentions that the band was finishing another song titled "Desperate", that they were trying to get it into the final cut). It's a really great interview that you should definitely take the time to read. There's some great photos in there as well. You can view the gallery of the pictures from their photoshoot here.
