I'm Heather, a little girl of 12 from Los Alamos NM. this was my first Green day show, my second show in all, but it's the best show I'll ever see. Fucking beyond amazing. It was about 6:45 when i got in, and Jimmy Eat World was setting up. I'm not a real big fan of the band, so i jumped into the HUGE line for merchandise. I fought my way to the front and got about 100$ worth of crap, then forced my slow mom and sister back to our seats in Section 9, kinda near the back, where we had a great view of the left screen and most of the stage. I saw a few of my buds and said hi, waiting for the Bunny to appear. Finally, after singing along to Blitzkrieg Bop(hey, ho, let's go!) on the speakers, the bunny came out on stage. He kinda danced a bit to YMCA, downed a few bottles, and fell over a couple times. It was great. The bunny, who was definitely NOT Tre, wobbled off, and tension rose as the Green Day set was put up. None of the band came onto stage as i could see, but whatever... Tre came out first. He climbed up into his drum set while Mike, Jason, Jason, the other guys, and Billie came out. and the lightning lit the sky from behind the set. -Immediately, Billie played out the riff to American Idiot and the whole crowd went WILD. Halfway thru, Billie did the "i want you to sing so fuckin' loud that every redneck in America can hear you!" and we all got louder, if it was possible. It was one of the best few songs that night. -Billie said a few things, then said "this is a shout out to all of you who live in a small town... JESUS OF SUBURBIA!!!" A few shouts of "new Mexico!" where yelled by Billie Joe, which made everyone louder. -Holiday was great. the "...This is anti-WAR!" quote was given, and the crowd got more energetic that before. He changed Anaheim to Albuquerque in the Representative of California part. Right when the second chorus came in, It started pouring as the pyrotechnics blasted on stage. Billie screamed, "I want it to fucking rain down on us, NEW MEXICO!!!" -Next was Are we the waiting and St. Jimmy, which Billie called St. Jimmy. he didn't have his guitar for st jimmy, so he was swinging the microphone around a lot. it was cool. -Longview was next. Mikes bass was on a bit of distortion, which made his part even better. Billie didn't sing the "masturbation's lost it's fun" part, which was funny cuz we all sang it. Once again, another amazing performance. !!!!! TRE GOT OUT FROM BEHIND HIS DRUMS AND DID "All By Myself"!!!!!!!!! It was so funny, and he changed a few of the words from "oh yeah, did i mention.." to "I HAD AN ERECTION!" it was the best ever. he looked all cute like he always is and sounded a little gay towards the end.. :P -I think next was Hitchin' a Ride. Halfway through, Billie did a Freddie Mercury thing, the "Heyyyyyyyyyyy ooooooooh!" where we all sang back. Then he went "Hey..." "Ho..." "Ahhh..." "ooooh..." "ohhhhhhh....." "Ohhhhhh... OOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" he started to rub his chest, to pull his shirt up a bit, then his left hand went right down his pants! A fake (or at least i think so, he put on a good show) masturbation while the whole crowd, mostly the girls, screamed as he moaned more into the mike. Then, of course, "SOMEBODY FUCK MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" and he finished the show and ended Hitchin' A Ride. :) -Billie did a cool guitar solo that wasn't on and GD albums, then somehow turned it into Brain Stew. It was great. He didn't sing the first "On my own.... here we go..." which, like Longview, sounded awesome. And right into Jaded they went. This woman, who seemed to be 40 or so, was in the seat in front of me, enjoyed Billie's masturbation (:P) and kept screaming "I LOVE YOU BILLIE!". it was funny. she did this for a lot of Brain Stew and Jaded. -I think She was next. Nothing special, but a great song to sing along to. Surprisingly, not as many people knew the words and i belted them out loud. -Maria was cool. I wasn't expecting it, and everyone seemed to love it. Another favorite of mine. -WMUWSE was what i think was next, (???) and everyone had their arms in the air, cell phones or not. The lady in front of me was probably the only one with a lighter and it was funny. --Next, Billie introduced the band, leaving himself last. He said a lot about Jason Freese, including "he's got a big dick!". He also said Mike looks really good naked, and Tre was a good friend of Michael Jackson. Everyone laughed until he introduced himself as George W. Bush. EVERYONE Booed. Billie looked a little embarrassed, but smiling the whole time. Then he said, "But my friends call me ASSHOLE." -SHOUT! Yeah, shout was after such a sad song! It was really good, and Billie ended up on the ground on his stomach, and started humping the ground! Everyone laughed as Mike lay on his back, playing the bass. As Billie lay on the ground, some guy came out and put a cape on Billie, as he was already wearing the crown as he sang "Stand by Me." He eventually got up and turned Shout into King For a Day. It was really funny, with Tre in a pimp-ish hat and the others in (i forgot). After King for a Day, Billie yelled "All you old school Green Day fans, you may know this song. It's off our album Kerplunk!. It's called 2,000 light years away!" i had only recently bought the album, but i knew some of the words, so i sang what i knew. and after King for a Day, Billie mooned us all, though i couldn't see him.. :( (he he) -Knowledge was cool. I was like the only one in my section that knew ANY of the words, so i screamed really loud. The making a band thing was cool the drummer was a nerd, the bassist was cool, and Billie picked this girl who'd been playing 3 years to do guitar. She couldn't do a barre chord, so next was this other dude. He couldn't do it either. FINALLY, Billie picked a guy with a Queen shirt who did it GREAT. Billie kissed him right on the mouth, and the guy looked so surprised and happy. it was funny. So they finished off Knowledge and Billie said to the people on the side, "ya know that girl, maker her come over here. over here! dammit, Bring her to me!!!" the girl came over, and Billie gave her the guitar. She hugged him really tight and he said "And practice, DAMMIT!" She ran off stage. The guitarist that actually did the song did a stage dive, and it was great. Really cool. -I don't remember when, but Billie picked some stupid boy in the pit to spray everyone with water. The kid sprayed a bunch of moshers right in the face, it was funny. Not really exiting, though. -Oh my god, Minority was good. Billie did his little harmonica solo, which kicked ass. It was probably the best song. They said goodnight and Billie must have said thank you 200 times before they walked off. The Green Day... chant was really quiet, a lot of people must have thought they were really actually done!!! I belted out Green day Green Day... as loud as i could over and over. -Boulevard of broken Dreams was cool, but i was sick of that song so i wasn't really impressed. EVERYONE knew the words to that song. -We are the champions was cool too. Billie told everyone to hold up our cell phones, which they did, and it looked awesome. During it i took a few pics with my phone, but they turned out really shitty so whatever... -Good Riddance was AMAZING. It was so sad and I loved it. I was really upset that it was the last song and was happy i was there. Sometime during the show, suddenly this stripper music came up and Billie took off his tie in a stripper-ish way and started to unbutton his shirt. Of course he only got 1 or 2 buttons down then stopped... :) No show could EVER top this one. The crowd was amazing, the band was amazing, there are no words to describe the energy in the show. And Billie said the last time they were in Albuquerque was in '91!!!! Crazy, isn't it?
