As many of you may know, The Network opened for Green Day for the first time this night (among Jimmy Eat World). I travelled from Toronto the day before the show, and I found out about it when GDA posted it;)THANKS GDA!...Well I got inline at 2, and I was 6th inline. They walked us over to this tunnel at 6:00, where we waited til 6:30, when they FINALLY let us in. We got against the wall right at the end of the catwalk. When you walked into the arena all you saw was a white backdrop and a red circle in the middle with the letter 'N'. There was a stand with 'Church of Lushotology' written on it, and the Churches Symbol. There was laser beam things and pink spray-painted amps with 'Peace' written on them. When the Network came on the two screens were showing pictures of toe amputation and severed fingers and there was smoke everywhere. They were all in their costumes and they played all their songs on their album. The only prop they had was this cheap little spaceship thing flying around the stage during 'Teenagers from Mars'. The Keyboardist would come to the edge of the catwalk and just stand there and look at us for a whole song. Also, during Teenagers from Mars, they did this KISS thing where they were all doing the same movements simultaneously with their guitars. Not very many people in the crowd realized it was actually Green Day that was playing...During Roshambo when he says 'All I really believe in is you...' I was pointing to him and he pointed back to me. The Network was AWESOME! the extra-extra guitar player(pink bunny) (not Jason White) was filming their performance so it might be released...

Okay, after we endured Jimmy Eat World...They were playing songs by The Ramones, Cheap Trick, Queen, Rancid, Operation Ivy...and some more...Then the pink Bunny came out and chugged two beers and he was crawling on the ground... he came to the edge of the catwalk and gave us high-fives and smacked his butt a few times...then he launched toy pink bunnys into the air. A few minutes later, all the lights went down and Green Day ran onstage and the music was like 'da...dA...DA!' and Billie Joe conducted the crowd. Then all you hear is the first chords to American Idiot and they ripped right throught that. Billie said 'I want you to sing so loud that every redneck in america can hear you!'. Then they played Jesus of Suburbia, and Billie changed all the 'you's' to 'we', and he said 'From Las Vegas to the Middle-East'. When they started Holiday Billie Joe said 'This songs not Anti-American, it's anti-waaaaaaar!'. Billie was introducing everyone and he said 'Tré Cool, has knelt in front of Michael Jackson...' and everyone cheered, then he said 'Jason Freese, on the piano, and on the brass, and many many COMPLETELY legal sites on the internet' and everybody cheered. Then he said 'And I'm George W. Bush' then everyone booed, his response was 'but my friends call me asshole' and everyone cheered. They played Are we the waiting, and a huge discoball came out. Then they played St.Jimmy. Then Longview, Billie Joe came out with devil horns...but he threw them off within the next 10 seconds of the song...He made everyone sing 'when masturbations lost its fun...' and he danced to it. Then Billie Joe said 'Say oh...ah...say hey!..oooh....ahhh' and then he was grabbing himself and then he stuck his hand right down his pants and was moaning into the microphone and everybody was screaming then he screamed 'SOMEBODY FUCK MEEE!' and everyone cheered and then he pulled his hand out of his pants and smelt his fingers and smiled and everyone cheered some more. then he got his guitar and started playing 'All by Myself' and then Tré jumped off the drumkit platform and started singing and pretending to jack-off with the microphone. instead of saying 'oh yeah did i mention' he said 'i had an erection'. Then they played Basketcase, and She. Then Hitchin a Ride, he stopped in the middle and got everyone to sing '1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4'. Before Brainstew started he got each side to have this cheering competition and then he mouthed 'gotcha'. then brainstew started and mike was directing the crowd to say 'HEY!' inbetween every guitar chord. The pyrotechnics were crazy. Then Tré was doing the Jaded drumbeat and they killed the lights and Billie got a spotlight and shined it all over the crowd. Then dropped the spotlight and started going crazy onstage. He was throwing the microphone in the air and he ripped off his extra shirt and pulled off his tie and threw it into the crowd,(the security guard gave it to me!), and he came to the edge of the catwalk and did the splits and did some breakdancing thing on the ground. He pulled up this kid onstage to squirt people with the squirtgun, but this kid didn't even smile or anything! he finally got off stage and Billie Joe said 'This song's off an album called Kerplunk' and they played 2,000 Light years away! Then they played King For A Day, and of course, Billie had his crown and cape and was runing around the stage and mooning the crowd. At the start of 'Shout' Billie was getting the crowd to say 'Now Way-Oh Way-oh Way-oh Hey-e' and then Tré took over from his drumset and was singing all these high notes and ended on a low note and sat back down. and then billie was having a laugh attack onstage because you could tell it wasn't planned. They all had these weird hats on and someone was sitting behind an amp with a puppet. Then they killed the lights and they were all lying on the ground singing 'stand by me'. Then they started playing knowledge, and called these guys up onstage, the kid who got to play the guitar was my friends nephew, Brody, and he was dressed up like Billie Joe. he was only 11, and couldn't play it that well, but Billie still let him stay up there, and he got to keep the guitar!After that song, he started singing the first lines to Letterbomb, and then quickly switched to Wake Me Up When September Ends. During the solo billie stood in the middle of the stage while white fireworks were going off in the background. Everybody had their cellphones or lighters out. After that song he mouthed 'one more!one more!' and then they played Minority. When they left the stage the sign was light up 'Green' then 'Day' and it got faster and faster and Green Day came out again to play their encore. They played Maria, then Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Then they played We Are the Champions and everyone had their cellphones/lighters out. And all the confetti came out but none of it was Green Day confetti. Then everyone left the stage except for Billie, and Tré was throwing piles of drumsticks into the crowd. Then Billie played Good Riddance and then left the stage.
