Sorry if this is long.The opening act sounded sorta clashed together so I won't talk about them.The white curtain raised and there was The Tre drumset.There was a girlfight in my section involving beer and slapping,I'm glad that didn't start during the show it was when the opening band left and the lights were on.I didn't think they were ever gonna start anything,then,all of a sudden,(they would play music for us to listen to just for like..convenience)and this song came on.It sounded awfully familiar and it was the "YMCA" then the pink bunny came on!The drunk pink bunny I had been wanting to see for the last 150 days!!!He would chug one after another and make the crowd do the YMCA(the lights were still on)and then Blitzkreig Bop came on.The bunny,I thought was Tre because of the shoes but I dunno,kept humping the stage,chugging one beer after another and swooning back and forth while doing dirty dances and then he started grabbing little stuffed bunnies and throwing them to people in the crowd.He stuck some pipe thing up and under his ass and it shot out lots of the bunnies,lol.Then the bunny left.The lights stayed on for a little bit more,then they just went pitch black and everyone was cheering.I stood straight up and started cheering when they shined the purple mist on the stage because they were gonna show up soon!!!Then they started playing that "DUNNNN-DAAAAA--DAAAAA-DUM DUM..BOOM-BA-BOOM-BA" and then the spotlight shined on the stage as all like..8 of them flew across the stage!!Everyone started screaming and cheering so loudly I felt my ears pop,but I didn't care at the time!Mike had his bass,Jason White was on his guitar,Jason Freeze was at the keyboards,Tre behind his drums,and some others were there too,and then there was Billie Joe,dressed in his tight black pants,black converse,and black shirt with the black star in the red box on the right side(reminded me of the Adeline clothes).He stood out the most than the others. He stood on top of speakers and held his hands high,smiling at the crowd as we cheered and the "victory" music ended,it sounded like victory music.Then it ended,he held his guitar and stared at us like "Should I?" and we started screaming louder and it just broke out into American Idiot!I loved when he said "Is calling out to idiot America.." then it went BOOM! and the curtains descended and the red and black curtains behind that were revealed.Then Jesus Of Suburbia,I went nuts for that one.But on "Tales From Another Broken Home"(part 5 on Jesus Of Suburbia)when he gets quiet and he says "I don't feel any shame..I wont apologize..when there aint nowhere you can go..runnin away from pain when you've been victimized..tales from another.." He got choked up or something.And everyone got silent and we were like "Omg..please don't say your voice is fucked up again!Thats why it got postponed in the first place!!" Then he smiled and they finished it up..explosively.He got the entire arena to do the wave,and we had screaming contests to see which side was the loudest.When it was my sides's turn,they shined the spotlight right on my section and my pink Green Day shirt glowed and he smiled because I was jumping and waving giving the rock on sign and he blew kisses at me!I felt like I was gonna pass out.Anyway,he kept replacing some words of states or countries in songs with "Nashville" and he said "How are my peeps up there doin?" and he pointed to us."How bout my people in the back seats?" "And my people over here.Now my people on the floor.." He went into some long speeches about how to stick up for yourself and do what you want,"Not what these bastards in the office tell you to do.You have the fucking power,you dictate your world.And I just wanna say a big FUCK YOU to George Dubya Bush,ALRIGHT?!" That really got the crowd pumped up,then they burst into Holiday and everyone started jumping up and down.They started doing the drumline for Are We The Waiting and Tre kept going and going as Billie walked across the stage talking to us.He said "Ya know..we've been around for about 17 years now.We're not new to this.We went on tour for the first time when we were 18,when Mike graduated from high school.Some of us were supposed to graduate from high school..." The crowd laughed at that,he paused,"BUT LOOK AT ME MOM!!" He got the crowd to do soo many "HEY-OOOHH" 's and "HEY-HEYYYY" 's."I want every single person in this building to freak out!" The crowd did as they were told and freaked out like you wouldn't believe,"Now..I want everyone to scream so fucking loud..that..every..redneck..in..America..can..hear..you,C'MON!" The crowd did everything he did.He sometimes said "STOP!" and everyone shut up.Then he said "We wanna thank yall for being so patient and..loyal to us.We had an illness in the group..so we had to postpone.But..we wanna let you know what we saved the best for last!" They had awesome special effects and the pyros(Flames) were incredible!When they would shoot up,you could feel the heat off of it.Wake Me Up When September Ends was beautiful because of the shower of sparks behind Tre was lighting up the whole arena.Billie Joe and Mike breakdanced several times,Billie played his guitar behind his head and stood on one foot as well.It was so funny to see that little skinny guy hopping across the stage with the high amount of energy he had!He was insane,it made the crowd wanna go even crazier!When Longview came on,everyone went nuts because Mike came onto the center stage and started playing that oh-so-famous bassline.Everyone sang along and Billie Joe would hold up the mic and even swing it around.He made us all sing the "When masturbation's lost it's fun your fucking lonely.." part and then he started to laugh.Hitchin' A Ride..oh boy what can I say?!That haunting tune drove me nuts when it first started up,everyone knew exactly what it was.They dimmed the lights to a dark orange on the stage and he stopped the whole thing and said "I said..ooooh.." the crowd repeated,then he said,"I said ahhh.." the crowd did that as well,Tre stopped his drums and Mike stopped strumming,Billie was holding onto the microphone and was squinting,"I said..AHHHHHH..YESSS..Ohhhhhhh.." He repeated over and over and so did us.He did many different..erm..HIGH pitched moans then he said "SOMEBODY FUCK MEEEEE!!!!!" the crowd was too was laughing hysterically,I have never laughed so hard.He backed up and said "I'm gonna get ya.." It was all dark and halloween-ish.He said "I'm comin' to get ya.." and we laughed and cheered then he backed up and the spotlight was on him again.He crossed his arms and looked at us like "Aw,c'mon." But then he started to pout and we said "AWWWW!" He laughed and continued.Anyway..they finished and then Brain Stew,one of my favorites,came on.The spotlight and special effects were so awesome.They would shine on every part of the upper level and I waved and he blew more kisses.That was so cool..Anyway.Then Jaded came on,I sang every word until I couldn't speak no more.Well..not literally.I had to clear my throat.Then after that,he would talk to us and say "I SAID WOO!" and we'd say "WOO!" and he said "I smell marijuana.." and everyone started laughing really hard.He looked up at us and pointed,"I smell drugs!!" then he tsk tsk'ed at the pit and said "Drugs are NOT allowed in this building!!" and he made this SHEESH! sound and Tre jumped down from his drumset and sang All By Myself,I thought that was really cool.Then they did King For A Day,Billie Joe came out in his crown and sang it from the top of his lungs(I love this song..one of my faves.)He mooned our side twice and the other side once and he started breakdancing in front of the people playing the trumpet.Then they all collapsed.Everyone was like what?Billie started humming into the mic.The spotlight was on Jason White,Tre,Mike,and Billie.All collapsed on the floor,except Tre had his head on his symbal.Then this guy placed Billie's crown by him and his cape on his back.Then he held the mic as he still laid on the floor and rolled over with his cape still on and he stared at the ceiling and sung so sweetly.At first I thought he was singing Madonna's "Like a Virgin" but it was Stand By Me and it was so good and quiet.Then they all jumped up and started singing "YOU MAKE ME WANNA SHOUT!SHOUT!" then they just let it fade out and the trumpets started up again and they finished King For A Day!Then Knowledge,I sang that all the way through(see list for complete details on this performance)Basket Case,I think that was the one everyone went crazy for.He would do the power-swings(where he would be playing the guitar but he'd swing his arm in mid-air)Then She came on.I think everyone knew that one too,it was a good performance.Minority's introduction came on and I went CRAZY for that one.That was the one song I was most excited to see.But everyone knew that one too.2000 Light Years Away,he asked for any old school Green Day fans and I cheered as loud as I could."Well this ones for you!" He said.He introduced Tre,Jason,Mike,and the rest of the band and he introduced himself as "George Dubya Bush" some people started to cheer but then they caught on to us and boo'ed."But my friends call me asshole.." He sounded girly when he said that.It was funny.Then,they did the oh so famous We Are The Champions with cannons of confetti and the screen behind them that read WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS.He called for lights out and people put their cellphones up and then when it said "I've had my share of sand kicked in my face - But I've come through" Everything blew up and so did the lights.Then it would say "Weeee Are the champiiions.." He introduced it as their last song,and I already saw very few people leaving.I was like YOU FUCKERS!!ITS CALLED AN ENCORE!Anyway..they left the stage with many "THANK YOU'S" and I had good seats to where I could see behind the on both sides of the stage and see equally awesomely the back and front.The lights never came on for us to leave.The sign that read Green Day that had been lit up earlier was shut off,along with everything else.Then,in green,it said "GREEN" then it went off.Then it said "DAY" then it came on again."GREEN" "DAY" it got a bit faster and everyone got the hint to chant it.Everyone starte chanting GREEN DAY!GREEN DAY!GREEN DAY! I saw those skinny guys come running across the stage with a proud smile and then they started up Maria.He got a little kid out of the crowd to squirt the people with a water gun,and he was so little that he had to help him hold the gun to squirt them.Then Billie ran to our side and squirted all of us.I loved Maria too.It was a good performance.But heck!They all kicked ass!During Maria he said "I'M RICK JAMES,BITCH!!"Then it ended and he started singing in a girly voice and we copied him,"Nobody likes you..everyone left you..they're all out without you..having fun.." I was like.."Wow..they never play this song at concerts." But he paused and the crowd cheered and cheered.Then..that haunting guitar sound started(it wasn't accoustic like it starts out)Everything was dark until it started and it went on him,It was Wake Me Up When September Ends.I think that's the tune I remember most.That.."Dun dun dan duu da da..Summerrr has come and passed.." That was another crowd favorite.Boulevard of Broken Dreams was really good.They had some sort of pic in the background on the screen.I knew those eyes.It was Billie Joe's eyes and it would swirl around and clash together.They had it in the background at the VMA performance.Then..the confetti went off again,Mike left and Tre rolled in the confetti and the spotlight was on Billie Joe who was still bent over from doing the end of Boulevard of Broken Dreams.Then he started doing the Good Riddance intro and everyone went crazy for that too.I was about to cry because I knew that was the last song,they all left with a bow and I really did have the time of my life.The best day and moment of my life.It was well worth the wait and money,and I saved up all summer for my ticket.I waited all summer,then it got postponed.I waited 50 more days(a total of 150 days) and it was all worth the wait in the end.They are the best band to see live and I highly suggest you go when you get the chance!The lights came on and I so didn't want to leave,but my eardrums were pretty much done for. Here's what they played.I can't remember the order,sorry..I did as best as I could. -American Idiot -Jesus Of Suburbia -Holiday -Are We The Waiting(introduced as St.Jimmy) -St.Jimmy -Longview -Hitchin' A Ride -Brain Stew -Jaded -All By Myself(performed by Tre,hilarious performance) -King For A Day -Stand By Me -Shout -Knowledge(Awesome,they did half of it but called a drummer,bassist,and then a guitarist,Billie told him to stand off by the side then he called up another one and they were an awesome band as he sang the song!When he was choosing the first guitarist,he said "Who can play guitar?" The crowd swerved to the right,"Whoa.." He paused and held his hands out,trying to direction them where to go,"Now,now..whoa!Get back over here.There we go.." Then he pointed to a kid.."You.How old are you?12?Have you ever gotten laid?..WELL YOU WILL TONIGHT!!Get up here!" But he couldn't get it good enough and he chose another one.Then he called the kid from the first try back up there and said "You're 12?Here..you get to keep the guitar." And the kid looked like he was about to burst into tears but Billie gave him a hug and as the kid ran off,he yelled "PRACTICE!!" When choosing the bassist,he chose a girl that I had talked to in line earlier and he said "This one is for all the chicks out there." Then he chose a drummer,"How long have you been drumming?8 years?How old are you?11?You think you can do this?" He pointed to Tre who was beating on the drums."Okay kid,get your ass up here!"Then the drummer just started to do his own thing at the end and everyone was cheering and Tre looked shocked as he kept drumming and drumming.Billie Joe said "C'mere.." The kid went the other way."No..here." He called him over to him but the kid took his hand gestures the wrong way and jumped back up on the drumset.Billie Joe said,"No!Get down from there.." He said it really prissy like,then he took the mic away from his mouth and started laughing,"Over here.Nah..just kidding." The kid looked like "WHAT THE HELL?!" Billie said,"Come here.Now you're gonna do a stage dive!" And the kid dove straight into the crowd and surfed all the way back to his seat.It was awesome. -Basket Case -2000 Light Years Away(Big surprise) -She -Minority -We Are The Champions -Maria -Wake Me Up When September Ends(beautiful cellphones and lighters in the air all around the arena) -Boulevard of Broken Dreams -Good Riddance(Time Of Your Life) I stood the whole time I was there,I never sat down.It was just..so amazing to see..I mean..It was just..I'm speechless.Just think.To be in the SAME room as GREEN DAY.It's amazing.After years of watching them on TV,looking at pictures online,reading other people's reviews,and listening to them for years......I was actually there.What more can you ask for?
