<>this was my second green day show, and i would have to say it was nothing short of amazing. i went with my best friend emily, and we are both OBSESSED with green day so it was awesome. this concert was supposed to be on august 14, but got rescheduled for this date. because of this, the network opened for them instead of jimmy eat world. i definitely liked them a lot. so they played for a while and then got off stage. if you've ever been to a green day concert, then you will know that this is the time when the pink bunny comes out with beers dancing to blitzkrieg bop and YMCA. then the space odysessy theme came on and out comes the greatest band of all time with the fans going wild. they instantly ripped into american idiot and i started screaming my lungs out. as soon as this song was done, billie announced that since this was the last concert, they were going to do something special. which was playing the whole american idiot album front to back. this sort of made me mad cause i don't like american idiot as much, but of course it was still amazing cause it was GREEN DAY! it was cool to hear songs i hadn't heard live before..like "letterbomb" and "homecoming". so as soon as they were done with that album, they went into my favorite, "LONGVIEW"!! followed by other older songs like
-welcome to paradise
-she
-basket case
-minority
-when i come around
-king for a day <--my favorite part of the show
and others...when the time came around to do knowledge, three lucky audience members got picked to play drums, bass, and guitar. when the girl who got picked for guitar went up there, she gave billie a high five and was like, "YOU ROCK!" then gave him a hug. i would have killed to be her!! it seems like someone always sucks or screws up in the band from the audience but this time the people were really good. of course green day did covers of we are the champions, stand by me, and shout. i love that part of the concert because the crowd gets so involved and the confetti is so cool.
at the end, like usual, billie came out by himself and sang good riddance which was of course amazing. the best picture i got was during that. after he was done he ripped his shirt off (yummm) and then left.. :(
i'd have to say the highlight of the night was seeing a drunk bald guy beside us going crazy and dancing.
this concert was amazing!!! if any of you reading this haven't been to a concert and are considering going sometime, stop considering and GO!!!!!!!!
