It all started catching a train to the sydney cricket ground at 8:30am after a sleepless night. we arrived at the venue at about 9:30 and there was atleast 40 people in line by then. it was a long day waiting for gates to open at 4:30pm but finally the time came and everyone had to get a wristband for entry to the idiot zone (front mosh closest to the stage). everyone ran in to secure the best place in the mosh security guards were trying the best they could to slow people down but failed. me and my two friends got the place we wanted on the end of the run way on the barrier i was really happy at the view and looking foward to being so close to my faveourite band. my chemical romance came on at 6:30 or so and opened with im not ok and followed with hits like the ghost of you, give em hell kid, give me your venom and a few more and they closed with helena. their sound wasn't the best you could barely hear the lead singer gerard. After mcr the roadies came out to setup for jimmy eat world who i was really looking foward to they played songs like bleed american, futures, get it faster, pain, sweetness, and the middle whem the middle came on the crowed went psycho u could tell that jimmy eat world were very happy to be there. this is when the excitement was building the roadies for green day came out to set up and the crowd was already chanting for green day. the drunk pink bunny came out as usual to get the crowd going dancing to ymca and can i comfirm that the bunny is not tre cool because i noticed a large tattoo on the persons neck when the rabbit head came up a bit when the bunny left the stage the space oddesy theme came on and the crowd was roaring. and then there it was tre cool ran out followed by billie joe and mike and there before my eyes was the greatest band in the world GREEN DAY, the crowd was roaring 10 times louder it was the best feeling in the world, it was more exciting than last time they toured here in march. They broke into american idiot with the i want you to scream to loud that every redneck in america hears you tonight. they followed with the awesome jesus of suburbia and holiday during the bass solo billie threw a australian flag over his shoulders and was drinking an australian beer called vb as green day rate it the best beer in the world the crowed was chanting scull scull scull to billie and then he burped into the microphone and screamed LIGHTS OUT and shined the torch over the crowd then finushed the song. They followed with are we the waiting AND I SHOOK THE KING OF PUNK ROCK BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONGSHAND as did many others. then they busted out with st. jimmy and followed with a suprising give me novacaine which was really good. then came the time i was looking foward till billie bought out blue (his old guitar) and i knew that the old songs were coming he started with longview which was awesome to see mike lead into it with his bass riff then came hitchin a ride with billies masturbation skit then he screamed I THINK IM CUMMING. next up was brainstew before the song he made the crowd cheer and boo at eachother. Billie bought two kids up on stage to shoot water pistols at the crowd and he took one of the kids hats and wore it for the next 3 songs or so. Next came one of my favourite songs basketcase then followed by she which was great. Before knowledge was played he introduced the band as he usually does but when it came to tre cool billie said "a man that needs no introduction SO FUCK HIM" but then he introduced him properly and tre ran down the runway and gave the chick right next to me a drumstick. then they broke into knowledge bringing 3 kids up on stage to make a band the drummer was really good and billie let the guitarist keep the guitar.Billie then put on his crown and ran around like crazy to king for a day then shout with a mix of stand by me. Billie then started with wake me up with september ends which was just amazing 50 000 phones and lighters up in the air and then the wall of raining fireworks in the guitar solo. Then came minority which got the crowed moshing as hard as they could and billie gave his little speech about sticking up for your self. They then went off stage for the encore with the green day sign making the crowd chant green day till they came back on and the most suprising songs of the night started i fought the law and they do it so fucking good live. boulavard of broken dreams was up next and of course every single person new every word. then came their cover of we are the champions which i think they do it just as great as queen. Then they went off stage again and i got confused thinking where was when i come around and good riddance then a bit longer this time they came back and billie screamed THIS IS A SPECIAL NIGHT FOR US SO WE'LL PLAY ALL FUCKING NIGHT IF WE WANT TO and then they played homecoming and it was fucking brilliant getting to watch mike and tre sing i think that would have been one of the biggest highlights. mike tre went off stage and billie walked down the run way and everyone knew what was next good riddance (time of your life) i love that new guitar riff he has added into it. over all this is the 2nd time i have seen green day and was better then the 1st i think the shows are just gonna get better cant wait for the next album and tour. they are defiently the biggest band in the world right now. rating:10/10
