When I first got inside the concert, Jimmy Eat World was performing. They played about 6 or 7 songs that no one really stood up to. But once their hit “Middle” came on people went crazy and a lot of people stood up then. Then they said their good-byes and went offstage. While the roadies were preparing the stage for Green Day, which took about 10-15 minutes, music was playing in the background and everyone was entertained by the text messages that people were sending to the two big screens. Finally the YMCA came on and out came the Pink Bunny. He did his little act of dancing and chugging two beers before walking offstage. Then the moment we all had been waiting for, the lights went out and blue and red lights were flashing everywhere to the “Odyssey” song. Out runs Green Day with the crowd going wild. Tré was being his crazy usual self while Billie Joe and Mike were running around the stage. Then they started the concert with American Idiot and in the middle Billie screamed, “I want all you fuckers to sing this so loud that every redneck in America can hear you!” And of course everyone did under Billie’s command. Next they played “Jesus of Suburbia”, which was AMAZING!! Then before he started Holiday, he told the people on my side of the stage that the pit needed to be filled in more, so he wanted about 20 people to slowly walk down to the pit. Well 1.no one walked and 2. definitely more than 20 people ran down there…and I was one of them with my friend. The security guard tried to stop me and my friend by saying 20 were already down there but I just ignored him and pulled my friend to the pit. We started kind of far back but pushed through to the very front and ended up at the center of the stage for most of the whole concert. Billie Joe did a lot of his “Hey-Oh’s” and the competing of noise of the crowd. I don’t exactly remember what order all the songs came in, but here are the highlights of the show: -Tré came down from his drum set after one of the songs from Dookie and sang “All By Myself” which is the secret track in Dookie for those who don’t know…it was definitely one of the best parts of the concert cause Tré was so funny -Green Day played 2000 Light Years Away, which made me more happy cause its one of my favorite songs and it’s off the album Kerplunk and from the reviews that I have read they didn’t play that song at any other concert -Bille did his fake orgasm and masturbation...which was right in front of my face...and was awesome...after making the crowd go "ohhhh" all sexually in the middle of "Hitchin' a Ride". Then he screamed "Someone in San Diego fuck meeeee!!!" and everyone went wild! -During one of the songs, some dude threw a charger hat to Billie and and he put it on during the rest of the song, which made the crowd go even more wild cause well duh...San Diego loves our Chargers! -Knowledge came on and he chose a drummer who ran up and kissed him for like 10 sec. (he ended up sucking and they replaced him), a girl bass player who sucked also and got replaced by this huge guy and a guy guitar player who was 15. It was so funny because when Billie does his usual…”have you ever been laid?” thing, the boy was like “what? I don’t know what you are saying.” It was so funny! So Billie was like “ok just get up here.” So this kid ends up having a broken leg and Billie was all…”how did you break you leg” and the kid said “from skateboarding” (everyone cheered) then Billie was like…”don’t lie, you know you did it from rollerblading!” so finally they all do their thing and Billie tells the guitar player that he can keep the guitar and to get his rollerblading ass offstage. Then he has the huge bass player dude do a stage dive and it was the scariest thing ever…no offense dude if you are reading this. So I duck when he jumps and when I look up to see if anyone caught him, he ends up being on the ground. It must have hurt…poor guy. -Billie gave a guitar to some random guy in front of the stage…lucky bastard -Billie Joe brought out a boy who helped him super soak everyone in the pit…which felt really good by the way -it was so amazing during “Wake Me Up When September Ends” because everyone took out their lighters and cell phones and wow…it was the coolest thing I have ever seen! -When they performed “Shout” he intertwined it with “Stand By Me” -Billie mooned everyone twice during “King For a Day” -they ended with “Minority”, which was probably the best song all night that got people going crazy -then the encore happened with the sign flashing Green Day and everyone chanting for them to come back on -they came back on playing Maria, then We Are The Champions, BOBD, and ended the whole concert with Billie Joe singing “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) with an electric guitar. BEST CONCERT EVER!!!!!!!!!!
