Dear GDA visitors,

     Over the past few months I’ve gotten lots of emails about how much of an asshole I am, how big of a dick I can be, and about me being plain rude. This is my apology to all of you. At the same time, I want you guys to at least see my point of view, so an apology can be taken seriously. I’m not justifying how I treated some of you, I know I should have shown more class, but I need you guys to understand from my side.

    I met a lot of you last year, before GDA got really popular. My main job was just to update the site periodically, it was just an on the side hobby. Since then GDA has become freaking huge in the Green Day world, which was our goal in the first place. However with our visitor count going up daily, we get more and more redundant emails, more and more of visitors demanding us to do things. I kept a level head for a long time, and just tried to avoid dealing with the matters that I knew would stress me out. Unfortunately, avoiding problems doesn’t help GDA. The on the side hobby, turned into a full time job. Courtney and I started putting in a ridiculous amount of our day, to make GDA bigger and better than before. We feel we have accomplished this, but at a very unfortunate price, stress. We both got totally stressed out, trying to do everything fans asked us, trying to keep up with the 80 emails a day. It just never stopped, the site kept growing, more visitors came, and we just got more redundant emails.

    I know it seems the only times I update on GDA is when I have to bitch about something. I consider myself a level headed, respectful guy. I respect everyone who deserves it, and by me just bitching at everyone as a whole, it seems like I don’t respect the visitors who have contributed and have helped make GDA so successful. Again, I apologize for the attitude I portrayed myself to have. When I get hundreds of email every week asking for the same thing or telling me off because I didn’t update something, people writing in over and over about rumors they hear from other websites or forums, or asking me for a video that I took off, it get very frustrating. I usually do a bunch of work behind the scenes of GDA. I don’t update about the various small changes I work on, so you guys only see the “asshole” part of me.

    I ask that you accept my apology, and from now I on I will try my hardest to deal with GDA’s individual problems like a professional webmaster, and treat everyone with the respect they deserve. I also have to ask that you guys not judge me based on the only thing you see. None of you know the real me, so it’s not fair for you to judge automatically on what you see. I love our visitors, because of you it’s made this job worthwhile. The only thing I ask in return from you guys is to give us a break on things. Courtney and I both have full time jobs, and we both are in college. We get nothing out of GDA except the satisfaction that it’s one of the best fucking fan sites out there, and knowing that Green Day visits and loves the site. Other than those, the only thing keeping us going, is knowing the amount of visitors that love GDA. But when 300 of you email us saying that “you forgot to put up a video for download” or “why didn’t you update the fan of the week,” it stresses us out, and we feel like we are being demanded by people who don’t understand how much we work on this site.

    Thanks to all of you for reading this, visiting GDA, and having good taste in music. You know no matter what, Courtney and I will continue to make GDA even better than day before. Thanks to everyone who has been visiting GDA this whole time, and thanks to the new visitors for stopping at a site that was made to be the best.
