[pic=American Idiot's front cover.]092113_american.jpg[/pic]9 years ago today (21st September) we were lucky to experience the masterpiece that is American Idiot. The 7th studio album brought us five singles - "American idiot", "Jesus of Suburbia", "Holiday", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", and "Wake Me Up When September Ends". Each single had an accompanying music video.

Since its release it's had many types to media sprung from it such as a unofficial remix album, a musical that made it to Broadway and now touring the world, an unreleased documentary, and a live album from the tour. The album went Platinum in most countries shortly after its release and has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

There's no doubt that this album is the biggest part of Green Day's career as it brought them back to fame and many new fans.

If you get the chance, make sure you sit down for an hour and give the album another listen.
