Notes:
Fans were invited to apply for free tickets so Green Day could film concert scenes for the movie New Year's Rev. A short set was played for the fans in between takes.

  • Maria: "People flew in from all over the US and Canada for this. I can't claim I came from England just for the show because I was in LA anyway. Our phones were locked in bags on the way in and Billie Joe commented on how great it was not to see a single phone. He threw lots of guitar picks with questions like:
    'What's my favourite colour?'
'What number is on my mind right now?'
    'What is my dog's name?'
'Who has the most spikes in their hair?'
He didn't actually wait for anyone to answer. He just threw them at the first people he saw. He also announced 'oof, my back' twice.
Mike kept telling us we were killing it. The first time they played a song just for fun, Tre refused to play more when Billie asked because he didn't want to get sweaty. When Billie played a bit of Corvette Summer, there was a collective gasp and that little shit knew exactly what he'd done when it didn't continue! I could tell I was in the company of fellow ADHDers because Billie kept playing random chords and Tre tapped away at his drums whenever there was a lull.
The barrier was mostly filled with hired actors but some fans got onto it in the centre and I got onto it past Mike, towards the end with some of the lovely ladies I met in the queue. The lady next to me had never seen Green Day and said she was a reasonably casual fan, but after the first song she was like, 'this is the best day ever!' There's such a small gap between the barrier and stage at the Palladium that I felt almost as close as I did when I was actually closer at stadiums. I can't believe I was still jumping at the end considering the jet lagged state I was in, but I was! An incredible and unforgettable experience for sure. Can't wait to see the film."

Movie is wrapped https://www.instagram.com/p/DHyoOydJBGm/?igsh=bnllb2x6MHVyYThj So now post production followed by however they manage to distribute it. Hopefully we’ll get release information by the end of the year. I was thinking about road stories they could use. Because we know this is based on the band’s own exploits touring during the early years, what are some of the road stories we know about that could potentially make it into the film?  — The most well know story of course is Sleepy the disembodied head in a jar they had to sleep near. — That time their van got broken into in New Orleans and their clothes and road cash was all stolen. Fans donated clothes and cash for them to get to the next town. — The IG gdtourvan1990 has loads of stories, pretty sure that account was run by Kiffmeyer https://www.instagram.com/gdtourvan1990?igsh=MTY0b2ZnN2U0cTBtOA== Anyone know any others?

From one of the lead actors in the film. Sounds like Billie (and Jakob!) co-wrote 4 or 5 original songs for the fictional band in the film to perform. Just like with Ordinary World, I was hoping they would write new music for the film too. This is great: https://www.instagram.com/stories/masonthamesofficial/3639189694185552542?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igsh=MTkyZWFhZ216Znlq
