Love is for Losers is the first and only Longshot album. It's essentially Billie Joe Armstrong's solo work. With the exception of his son Joey playing drums on Happiness, Billie Joe wrote, recorded and produced everything himself. It was mixed and engineered by Chris Dugan.

Billie Joe recruited old friends Jeff Matika, Kevin Preston and David S. Field to play the songs live. The Longshot toured the US and Canada in 2018, and played a few days in California in 2019. The Coverups sometimes cover the title track of Love is for Losers.
