[img=041512_pipelinetoacure.jpg]In an announcement on their Facebook page, the Cystic Fibrosis charity Pipeline to a Cure announced that Billie Joe and Mike Dirnt have become the first celebrity ambassadors for the charity this year.
Pipeline to a Cure is a non-profit organization with their mission being to improve the quality of life of those currently suffering from Cystic Fibrosis and ultimately to find a cure for the disease.
Green Day was first noted as supporters for the cure of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 when this photo of Billie Joe wearing an "Emily's Army" shirt was floating around the internet. Billie then attended a charity event for Pipeline to a Cure in July of 2008 which raised over $400,000 for the cause. Last year, Mike Dirnt donated one of his Fender bass guitars to Pipeline for them to auction off, you can watch a video of Mike talking about the charity by clicking here.
