[pic=Billie Joe and Miranda rehearsing]012414_bja-lambert.jpg[/pic]Late last night it was announced that Billie Joe will be performing along side country artist Miranda Lambert at this Sunday's Grammy Awards. According to Examiner.com, the duo will be part of a segment to honor the late Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers. Billie Joe and Miranda will perform "When Will I Be Loved," a 1960 release from the brothers.

Doing the original version is really cool. To do with Billie Joe Armstrong...I've never really [performed] with someone from a totally different genre. We were listening to Billie Joe and Nora [Jones] on the way here, and his voice sounds so amazing on this kind of music. We're so excited about this collaboration. We've been texting. I think it's gonna be really cool.

Lambert goes on to add:
It's really cool to perform this song. I've been doing the Linda Rondstadt version of [the song] for a long time.

With the recent release of Billie Joe + Norah's Foreverly album, it seemed to be an easy choice for the Recording Academy to include Billie Joe in the tribute to Phil Everly. As to why Norah Jones isn't being included, we have to assume scheduling conflict.

The Grammy Awards air this Sunday, January 26th, at 8pm EST on CBS. We will be sure to post a recap after the duo's performance concludes.
