Notes:
Fans were invited to apply for free tickets so Green Day could film concert scenes for the movie New Year's Rev. A short set was played for the fans in between takes.

  • Maria: "People flew in from all over the US and Canada for this. I can't claim I came from England just for the show because I was in LA anyway. Our phones were locked in bags on the way in and Billie Joe commented on how great it was not to see a single phone. He threw lots of guitar picks with questions like:
    'What's my favourite colour?'
'What number is on my mind right now?'
    'What is my dog's name?'
'Who has the most spikes in their hair?'
He didn't actually wait for anyone to answer. He just threw them at the first people he saw. He also announced 'oof, my back' twice.
Mike kept telling us we were killing it. The first time they played a song just for fun, Tre refused to play more when Billie asked because he didn't want to get sweaty. When Billie played a bit of Corvette Summer, there was a collective gasp and that little shit knew exactly what he'd done when it didn't continue! I could tell I was in the company of fellow ADHDers because Billie kept playing random chords and Tre tapped away at his drums whenever there was a lull.
The barrier was mostly filled with hired actors but some fans got onto it in the centre and I got onto it past Mike, towards the end with some of the lovely ladies I met in the queue. The lady next to me had never seen Green Day and said she was a reasonably casual fan, but after the first song she was like, 'this is the best day ever!' There's such a small gap between the barrier and stage at the Palladium that I felt almost as close as I did when I was actually closer at stadiums. I can't believe I was still jumping at the end considering the jet lagged state I was in, but I was! An incredible and unforgettable experience for sure. Can't wait to see the film."

I was wondering the same. Only thing I heard somewhere is that the title would be changed to „Nimrods“. Don’t know if that’s true…
that would be much better than new years rev... geezer to ordinary world makes a bit of sense. if they keep it as new years rev, i'll just cry. that title isn't cool   and although "nimrods" isn't the best thing ever, it's better than whatever we're seeing right now

It's quite strange that there are no updates on that.

It's kind of weird that it's loosely based on Green Day but then Green Day are also a part of the movie.   Somebody make a movie about Green Day!   Also, American Idiot.
