"On This Week..." - Let's do the (Green Day) time warp again!

On this week...

Last Year:

It was an exciting time for South American fans as Green Day were touring there for the first time in 12 years. They had shows during this week in Brazil (Brasilia and Sao Paulo) and then Argentina and Chile.

Green Day fans in Brazil recently made a picture video to commemorate the 1st anniversary of Green Day's return to their country. It's well worth a watch, with lots of great pictures from the shows as well as of the fans that were there:

2 Years Ago:

"Rocktober" was in full swing as Green Day played to packed out arenas in Holland, Belgium, and then the UK and Ireland. This week saw the biggest organised Green Day Community meet up till that point, at the O2 Arena in London, England. Around 40 or so fans flocked from all parts of the world to meet up and travel to the shows together in the UK, creating some very memorable times, of which i was lucky enough to be a part of.



In 2000:

Green Day played an awesome show at Goat Island in Sydney, Australia during their Warning tour. It's a really fun performace to watch, as the stage backs on to the sea and sets the scene for some entertaining 'banter' with the passing boats!

In 1987:

According to various sources, Sweet Children (a couple of years before they became Green Day) played their first ever live show at Rod's Hickory Pit in Vallejo, California, where Billie Joe's mother was working at the time.
