Green Day is back. Just announced this afternoon is the news that the band will be playing at the 2013 South By South West festival in Austin, Texas.

They will perform on the night of March 15th at ACL Live at the Moody Theatre. How exciting is this?!

This is the band's first show since September of last year. Has it really been 5 months? My goodness. As eager as us fans are to have them back together playing again, it has to be very exciting for them as well.

According to SXSW's announcement of the show, attendance will be limited to the following persons:
- SXSW Music & Platinum Badge Holders
- SXSW Showcasing Artists
- Music Wristband Holders
- Idiot Club Winners

So it looks as if the Idiot Club Nation will be holding a contest to give away passes to the show. Stayed tuned for information about that.

Green Day certainly will play a large role at this year's SXSW festival as they are also screening two documentaries: "¡Cuatro!" and "Broadway Idiot." We posted about these screenings several weeks ago.
