Sadly, Green Day's show in Rio de Janeiro on 9 September 2025 has been cancelled. Green Day shared a statement on an Instagram story:
"Due to the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals between Botafogo and Vasco da Gama, which will take place on September 11, as determined by the draw held on August 12th, we inform you that the Green Day concert scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, at Nilton Santos Stadium, has been canceled.
After the draw, Botafogo and the event promoter met to discuss the best strategy for holding both events and agreed that dismantling all the concert structures in time to prepare the stadium for the match would be technically unfeasible for a show of this scale and a game of such importance.
Therefore, after mutual analysis of this technical infeasibility, it was decided to cancel the band's performance in Rio de Janeiro.
Instructions for the full refund of the amounts paid for tickets can be found on the livepass website: www.livepass.com.br"
This must be devastating news for everyone going, especially fans who can't afford to go elsewhere. So sorry for all of you.
