The New York Times asked their readers to rank the 100 greatest living American songwriters. Billie Joe has made the list. We think he should be higher up, of course, but it's good to see him there at all in a world where rock music isn't that popular anymore. The full list is on the New York Times website and their Instagram, but if you want the spoiler, scroll on...

So here's the spoiler: Billie Joe came in at 84. Trent Reznor beat him to 83. The National came in after Billie.

What do you think? Should Billie Joe have been ranked higher or was 84 fair? Discuss it on the Green Day Community forum.
