Notes

  • Recordings from the show can be found here
  • "Paint Factory was a short-lived joint in Ybor. A very sketchy section if I recall correctly."
  • "As I recall, the Paint Factory was so sketchy that I just assumed it was an abandoned building. I think they ran in extension cords from the building next door for power."
  • Justin Gauge: "If you were there you remember. What a crazy night this was. Historic I think, is not pretentious. Keep your eyes peeled for Doug, Skinny, Dudinetz, idk... Maybe even yours truly."
  • Creative Loafing Tampa Bay: "In our 2017 Music Issue, Tampa DIY scene forefather Edwin Velez described the days when Green Day would play shit venues in Tampa Heights (although there is debate about whether the venue was called Paint Factory or Skyscrapers - it was Skyliners). The NorCal punk band's Tuesday night set in Tampa was a reminder that it has come a long, long way from being punk at 101. W. 7th Ave. (near Tampa's Water Works park)."
  • Dave's Misty Water-Colored Memories Of The Way We Were: "Paint Factory vs. Skyliners! This is the corner of Tampa St. and 7th Ave. and the former site of the Paint Factory (as I always knew it) or Skyliners (as others called it) in 1990. LOL, I'm providing the flyers as proof that both names were used. Green Day played there and I bought some zines from Aaron Cometbus who was on tour with. At that time in history, the Tampa police station was one block away across a more-or-less empty park ... direct sight line. They shut down the Green Day show early."
