Notes:
  • Strange Days Are Here to Stay was played for the first time since Saviors was played in full in early 2024.

  • Billie Joe's Letterbomb speech: "Oh, Tokyo! You are so beautiful! I love you! I love you so much! We haven't been here in so long! It's been so long since we've been to Tokyo, but we are here now! We are here together! Tonight is so special. Every day, we gotta celebrate that we are alive. There is so much corruption going on in the world right now. There's so many distractions. There's so much hate, but not here. Not here. Tonight in Tokyo, tonight is about love and joy! I just want to be happy! I want to be with my friends! And my family! And I wanna take care of each other, right now!"

  • Maria: "I'd always been sceptical of people claiming they got pushed onto the barrier, but before Otoboke Beaver took the stage, there was a random surge and I got rammed into the last small gap at the end of the catwalk. It was one of the best spots I'd ever had. Next to me was a young lady who was so excited she kept screaming the band's names, beside her was my Japanese friend, and behind us there was another British friend and a Chinese fan. We could hardly breathe even before Green Day came on and I'd missed that because the British shows were chill. I was clinging onto the barrier for dear life as we all screamed along to The American Dream Is Killing Me but whenever we all looked at each other, we were beaming. I'm still not over this show, honestly. The vibe all around me was amazing and I can still recall that feeling that the whole arena was shaking. Billie and Mike were SO close when they came out onto the catwalk. You know when you were however old you were when Bullet in a Bible came out, and you watched Billie kneeling on the catwalk and sighed wistfully, thinking you'd never be that close? That kid was there with me in Yokohama, screaming enough to make me more deaf than I already am. After the show, we went to a British pub near Yokohama Station and it was full of Green Day fans from around the world. The staff understood the assignment and played nothing but Green Day."

    Here's the full show
I'm still not over it. The vibe all around me was amazing and I can still recall that feeling that the whole arena was shaking. Billie and Mike were SO close when they came out onto the catwalk. That kid was there with me in Yokohama, screaming enough to make me more deaf than I already am. I was so stressed before I left, I'd had so much bad luck on the trip, and then I was beyond devastated that my mum couldn't make it. The universe was definitely looking out for me when I got shoved into that spot and Green Day put on such a good show. Anyway, I'm writing a GDA recap of the shows I went to in Asia. It'll probably be posted soon.
