Today, the cast of Green Day's musical, American Idiot will be doing four special free performances in New York City as a part of their "American Idiot Gives Back" program. The shows stars John Gallagher Jr., Micheal Esper, and Stark Sands will be playing a selection of their favorite Green Day and Christmas songs at each location.

These free performances are set up to support the Broadway Cares charity.

Here is a list of times and places where the cast will be performing:
- Approximately 1:00pm: Citi Pond at Bryant Park (Between 40th and 42nd Streets / 5th and 6th Avenues)
- Approximately 2:00pm: Carlton Hotel Lobby (88 Madison Avenue, between 28th and 29th)
- Approximately 3:00pm: Hard Rock Café (1540 Broadway, between 43rd and 44th)
- Approximately 3:30pm: St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street, between Broadway and 8th)

The cast of American Idiot also recently recorded their own version of the song "Do You Hear What I Hear?" in the tune of Green Day's song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" for Broadway Cares' 2010 Carols for a Cure CD. You can hear a short preview of the song in the player below.
