Have you ever been listening to a Green Day song and thought to yourself, "Wow, this would sound even cooler if they'd done this instead?" Ever wanted to try your hand at remixing a Green Day song, and see if you've got the ear to improve upon greatness? Here's your chance!

GDA and GDC are launching the first-ever Green Day remix contest! The rules are simple: we give you a theme and three songs to choose from. Pick one of those songs to use as the base for your mix. You can incorporate other Green Day tracks into your mix as long as the contest song remains the driving force behind your remix (i.e., your submission is clearly identifiable as a mix of a certain song and doesn't fall into "mash-up" territory).

[img=080211_ejn_cover.jpg]We're not too picky on what files you use to make your remix happen, but we will not be supplying any multitracks, so please don't ask. Also, as a reminder, asking for, sharing or trading multi-tracks on GDA or the GDC forum is not allowed.

So, with that out of the way, time for the first contest's theme! The theme this time is "The God Mix." Choose one of the following three songs as your base file:

Church on Sunday
Jesus of Suburbia
East Jesus Nowhere

When you've got your remix done, upload an MP3 to MegaUpload or MediaFire and either email the link to Matt (matt@greendayauthority.com) or PM it to Ben (Tre's Busted Drumkit) on the forum. All submissions are due by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on August 22nd. The master mixer, as chosen by the GDA and GDC teams, will receive one of the grey 7" Minority vinyl!

So go forth, future mix-masters of the world, and show your stuff. Good luck, and may the best mix win!
