Today marks the beginning of the American Idiot The Musical tour, taking to the stage for the first time since its final showing on Broadway in April this year. The first stop is not too far from where it left off, starting in upstate New York, in Utica.

This is from Playbill.com:
The Stanley Theatre in Utica, NY, is the site of the tech and soft launch of the new North American tour of American Idiot, the Broadway rock musical based on the Green Day album. Following Dec. 21-22 public performances, the tour will officially launch Dec. 28 in Toronto.

Van Hughes, the standby for the trio of broken buddy roles in the Broadway run of the musical, plays Johnny, also known as Jesus of Suburbia.
You can read the rest of the article from Playbill, along with a full list of US & Canada tour dates here.

As well as the US & Canada tour dates, the musical will also be going abroad this year to the UK & Ireland, with "more dates to be announced soon" according to the official site.

Here's to a long and successful run for the AI Musical tour production, with many more days of Johnny forgetting to shower... again!
