Veja São Paulo: "In 1998, the Californian trio Green Day was in town. There played two nights at Via Funchal (7 and 8 November). At the time, the most expensive ticket cost as little as R$80 and there were no such thing as VIP area - front row was occupied by the people who were first in line. The audience consisting mostly of hyperactive teenagers, was well-behaved and enjoyed Green Day's brand of melodic punk rock."
