Jerry Perry: "There is very stupid (kinda sad, kinda funny story) about how Green Day never showed up for this, and in fact was probably never truly booked. Sigh..."
The Cattle Club: "Ah, yes. The infamous Green Day no-show. For all I know, I was hoodwinked. I was given Tre's number, but don't remember by who. Anyway, it was no big thing to set up shows like that. I'd book AFI by calling Davey's house, and his mom would answer. (Pre-cellphone... And pre-huge fame!) Anyway, I confirmed Green Day with who I assumed was Tre, but who knows? It was just a guy on the phone who claimed to be Tre. All I do know is they never showed up, people were disappointed (myself especially), and I felt really stupid and wished I could remember who gave me that number. Moments like that were so crushing to me. Ungh..."
