Green Day are coming back to Jakarta, Indonesia for the first time since 1996 on 15 February 2025. Tickets go onsale on 27 August 2024 at 3PM local time.



The 1996 show was one of the biggest moments in the Indonesian punk scene at the time. The 6,000-capacity convention center was over capacity. Kids who couldn't afford pit tickets were jumping down from the balcony. It was already so packed that people were getting injured. Even members of the support act had to step outside for air. Meanwhile, fans who couldn't afford tickets at all began to break the doors down. Several people were hospitalised after the show.



News outlets and some Indonesian punks were baffled that anyone felt Green Day were worthy of such a fuss. They complained that all their songs sounded the same anyway, but for better or worse, fans still remember those songs clearly.
