Green Day's old tourbus, a bookmobile once driven by Tré's dad, is currently on display at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas – and huge fans Sum 41 shot their new video there.

The song is called Waiting on a Twist of Fate. Frontman Deryck Whibley called the video "an ode to the history of punk rock" and explained that Green Day were one of the bands that inspired Sum 41 to pick up instruments. You can watch the video on YouTube:

Here's Deryck's full statement:

"It was such a blast, an honor and a privilege to shoot our latest video for 'Waiting On A Twist Of Fate' at Punk Rock Museum, a place that represents the music we love and hold close in our hearts. To perform in a house that celebrates the artists and bands that inspired us to pick up instruments and start Sum 41 in the first place, was a surreal and moving experience. Figuratively and literally! (Thank you to all the fans who moved us around on a rolling cart through the museum!)

Artists like Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash, Iggy Pop, Green Day, NOFX and Pennywise were just a few that made us fall in love with this great genre of music and want to join in ourselves. It’s crazy to me that almost thirty years later, we have our own items and pictures in the museum among all these greats too.

Please enjoy our ode to the history of punk rock! Special thanks to CJ Ramone for being in the video and Green Day for letting us shoot a scene in your Bookmobile tour bus. As a music fan in general, that was just a cool experience on its own.

Most of all thank you to everyone at Punk Rock Museum for putting up with us till the sun came up, Ravi Dhar (our director) and your whole team. This was a fun one and I think it came out great! 👊"

I once met Cone McCaslin (the bassist of Sum 41) on the way to a Green Day show in 2010. He said he'd been to their Toronto show a few weeks before and it was one of the best gigs he'd ever seen. I also remember an even older interview in which he was asked about the best show he'd ever been to, and he chose Green Day then as well. The only thing I had for him to sign was the 21st Century Breakdown booklet that I took with me in case I met Green Day, so he signed his name over Billie Joe's face on the ¡Viva la Gloria! page. He was honestly one of the nicest people I've ever met. It's great to see Sum 41 paying homage to Green Day in a video now!
