[img=071811_ai_doors.jpg] After three and a half weeks of previews and 422 performances, "[turl=http://www.greendayauthority.com/projects/musical.php]American Idiot[/turl]" closed on Broadway on April 24, 2011. Within that time, the 24 plus cast entertained and thrilled the audience at the St. James. Now, these former Idiots have new projects, which range from stage readings to primetime television shows.
The three original male leads, John Gallagher, Jr., Stark Sands and Michael Esper, have probably been the busiest ones of the cast. Both Gallagher and Esper left the show at the end of February to join plays on Broadway and Off-Broadway, respectively. Gallagher ended his run as Lee in the Tony-nominated "Jerusalem" and he'll begin to film an Aaron Sorkin HBO pilot in Los Angeles. On the side, Gallagher performs his own songs, usually late Monday nights at Rockwood Music Hall on the Lower East Side.
