[newsImage]021610_lollapalloza.jpg[/newsImage]Several articles came out today claiming that Green Day was expected to headline the Lollapalooza festival this year. The event takes place August 6 - 8th at Grant Park in Chicago, IL USA. Other headliners include Lady Gaga and Soundgarden.

The report came from the Daily Swarm initially, then picked up by Spin.com and the Chicago Tribune.

Official details about the festival usually aren't announced till spring (April'ish), so we wait for confirmation.

Green Day played at Lollapalooza in 1994.
