Don't Leave Me

My favourite part...

Every day and night[/quote]
I've found myself listening a lot to this song in the build up to write something about it. I felt it would be tough as I've never really had a proper girlfriend as an adult so thought it would be hard to relate to. (Aww poor little me, put the tissues away as it also means I've never been dumped - so there's a bonus.)

It turns out I was kind of wrong, as what popped into my head was that feeling of young love and being dumped aged 11 by my first girlfriend for one of my best friends. The worst thing is I could see it all coming and felt powerless to stop it. It was a damn epic break-up for that youthful age though:

Upon meeting my girl at school I noticed she was kind of sad and me being me probably took the mickey a little bit to get a laugh. "You Bastard!" was the first thing she said to which I replied "I'm not a Bastard, that's someone who has no Dad." Talk about your all time regrettable moment. As she ran off crying, I was told by her best friend that her Dad had recently passed away. With a blank expression covering my face I could not wait to get out of that place.

From there on trying to get her back and begging for her not to leave me was pointless. That's why this song reminds me of a feeling of uselessness, regret and trying to avoid the inevitable, doing things you know you shouldn't, all in the name of love.

One last time though I'll beg and plead to something that can never be taken away...
