[newsImage]030510_echo.jpg[/newsImage]Green Day took the award for Best International Rock/Alternative/Heavy Metal Act in Germany's "Echo" awards. I'll assume they were nominated as the Heavy Metal Act.

They were nominated alongside Billy Talent, Kings of Leon, Mando Diao and Placebo for the award, which was handed out in in a ceremony (the guys weren't present) March 4 in Berlin, Germany. The full list of winners can be read on the Echo website.
