Yesterday, NBC released new information about its hit TV show, "The Voice." Our very own Billie Joe Armstrong will be joining the show as a mentor to Christina Aguilera's team. Billie Joe also released a statement saying that he and his family love the show because the show is "not molding artists, it's just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover."

According SFGate.com (as well as other notable sites, such as the Washington Post and the official Green Day site), Billie Joe started filming for "The Voice" on Wednesday and the show will air on September 10th.

I'm really curious to see how Billie Joe will lend his talents. If I were a contestant on "The Voice," getting a lesson from Billie Joe would be quite the refreshing experience, versus trying to sit through a "vocal lesson" with someone like Cee Lo Green (or a similar "vocalist").
