Green Day makes changes to US tour; <i>¡Tré!</i> release bumped to December 11th

Moments ago, GreenDay.com posted a press release informing fans that Green Day has cancelled their club tour that was scheduled to run from September 26th to December 10th. The release also said that tour dates scheduled for January and February of 2013 have been postponed.

The press release assures that rescheduled dates for the postponed shows will be announced shortly. If you have previously purchased tickets for any of the upcoming shows in January and February, they will be honored on the new dates. Refunds for the cancelled club tour will be available at the point of purchase.

Mike Dirnt was quoted in the press release saying the following about Billie's recent time in rehab:In addition, the band has now also moved the release date for ¡Tré! from January 15th to December 11th in order to make up for postponing the tour. Tré Cool commented on moving the release date of the final album in the band's trilogy:As unfortunate as all of this is, we need to remember that Billie's health takes priority over tour. Postponing the tour is the best thing to do right now, in my opinion. Just to re-emphasize, dates scheduled from now until December 10th have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
