American TV channel AXS TV has announced a new nine-part series called Reel to Real in which the network, formerly known as HDNet, will air "acclaimed music documentaries."

The first film up in the new series is Green Day's Heart Like a Hand Grenade. As we've posted about many times, the John Rocker-directed film documents the band's recording of American Idiot.

Heart Like a Hand Grenade was treated to a theater and physical release late last year but this will be the documentary's first appearance on TV. The documentary is set to air on May 31st at 9:00pm ET.
