Sacramento garage-pop duo Dog Party has been selected as the opening band for Green Day's recently announced U.S. tour dates in September and October.

The band, formed in 2007, features sisters Gwendolyn Giles on guitar and Lucy Giles on drums, while sharing lead vocals. Their list of influences, according to the band's Facebook page, includes the Ramones, the Descendents, X, Kepi Ghoulie, Ty Segall, Agent Ribbons, Gogol Bordello, Jessica Lea Mayfield and the Groovie Ghoulies.

Dog Party will not be opening for the Oct. 8 show at Webster Hall in New York City. An opener for that tour date hasn't been announced yet. For a complete list of shows in support of Green Day's upcoming album, "Revolution Radio," head over to our tour section.
