Green Day played the legendary Coachella festival on 12 April 2025. The setlist was a bit different to the average Saviors Tour set:

  1. American Idiot

  2. Holiday

  3. Know Your Enemy

  4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams

  5. One Eyed Bastard

  6. Longview

  7. Welcome to Paradise

  8. Hitchin' a Ride

  9. Brain Stew

  10. St. Jimmy

  11. 21 Guns

  12. Minority

  13. Basket Case

  14. When I Come Around

  15. Wake Me Up When September Ends

  16. Jesus of Suburbia

  17. Bobby Sox

  18. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

Billie Joe changed two lyrics in Jesus of Suburbia to reference the occupation of Palestine: 'from Palestine in the Middle East' and 'running away from pain like the kids from Palestine.' In Holiday, he sang 'the representative of Coachella now has the floor.'

'I will forever cherish that moment thank you so much it was the best day of my life 🥹' — Brooke, the fan who sang Know Your Enemy

The fan brought up to play guitar in Good Riddance was accused of using the opportunity to promote his own music, but he wrote on Instagram: 'Thanks for having me onstage Billie 🖤 I will re-live that moment everyday for the rest of my life.'

What that actual hell is wrong with ai? When I looked up Green Day hot dogs, it said this in the google ai overview:  Green Day is scheduled to headline Coachella 2025, according to a post on Green Day Community. The post also mentions the band is scheduled to perform "Green Day hot dogs," which is likely a playful reference to their performance, possibly including a set list with songs featuring "hot dog" themes or related imagery.  Um... no? lol ALSO the ai used MY post for this information. It used this post:  Ummm, I didn't know the AI can see me lol. Stay safe out there... (ai is artificial intelligence, not American Idiot lol) now the ai is calling coachella an 'unusual, fictional event' ... huh?
Honestly, AI is so shit.  We all know the song’s called Bratwurst not hot dog! ?

On a side note, I’m pleasantly surprised to see all the praise for Green Day‘s performance online. I wasn’t sure if their music would resonate with the Coachella crowd, but it seems like most people really enjoyed their set, and I even saw some articles naming them as the highlight of the whole festival. There was one post about Travis Scott‘s performance where people commented that it fell flat because of the high standards set by Green Day before. I’ve got no idea if this is true or not, but it seems like in recent months, the band is finally getting the recognition they deserve. There was a time where they were the punching bag for a lot of frustrated rock fans, but these days, it seems like most people seem to acknowledge their contribution to rock music history and the fact that they are still one of the best live bands out there.
