Billie Joe and his son Jakob Armstrong have quietly released a cover of 'Heroes' by David Bowie. We all know Billie Joe is a huge Bowie fan - he gets a mention in 'Strange Days Are Here to Stay,' after all! Fans are loving the cover so far. Give it a listen:

Jakob also has his own band, Ultra Q.

Pretty surprising to see something like this drop.

So one of those articles says Billie is not the lead vocalist on this?!?! Now I’m confused as to who sings lead???
What?  I didn't even know Jakob was singing on it. But my brother and dad sound exactly the same when they sing even though they don't when they talk so that could be the case here It's a cool cover, a big song to tackle but they pull it off well!

I really like Billie’s vocal delivery in this. Very classy and tender. Would be interested in this with Saviors vocal production instead of this “he’s far away” sound.
Yes that is a good description of the vocals here, sounds very different

It sounds to me like Jakob sings lead for roughly the first half and Billie takes over after that and Jakob switches to harmony vocal. I’d need to listen carefully again to pinpoint that but I’m fairly sure of it.
Edit: pretty sure Billie takes over at 3:15 with the line “I, I will be king”.

I think Billie starts the song, then Jakob starts singing at the line “And  you, you can be mean.” Then they switch back and forth a couple of times.

I'm pretty sure Jakob sings only these parts:
Spoiler
(…)

And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time
'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes, we're lovers, and that is that

Though nothing will keep us together
We could steal time, just for one day
We can be heroes for ever and ever
What'd you say?

(…)

I, I can remember (I remember)
Standing by the wall (by the wall)
And the guns shot above our heads (over our heads)
And we kissed as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall)

(…)
… and the rest is Billie. I could be wrong though
