Mike and Tre talk Green Day's early days and future
The Nimrods press tour continues with three more interviews published today featuring Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool. All three are worth a read, so rather than recap everything, here are a few highlights.
Rock Sound spoke with Mike about the early days crammed into the Bookmobile, their first tours of the UK, younger punk bands and what keeps Green Day going after nearly 40 years. Talking about the surprise three-piece show following the Nimrods premiere, Mike described the connection the band still has when they strip everything else away:

Kerrang caught up with Tré to talk about how much real Green Day history ended up in Nimrods, including fans sneaking into shows, getting stuck in an elevator on the way to the stage and the band's old touring puppet, Gravy. Gravy disappeared around the same time someone broke into their van and stole their money and tapes, which has left Tré with another theory:

"I mean, we love them, and I guess it is a special relationship we have with them," says Cool, 53. "I've been to shows and seen other bands' fans and it's not that our fans are crazier or better looking... which they are, very much so! But they're so cross generational. There's different age groups of fans. We're their band and it's a part of a culture of misfits that belong together."
