HelveticaBOLD: "I was at one of their very first shows, at Contra Costa Community College in San Pablo, CA in 1989 - I used to hang out a bit with Al Sobrante, their original drummer."
"One of their first shows with Al Sobrante on drums. Show took place between 12:00 - 01:00 PM. They played in a tiny outdoor amphitheater next to the cafeteria. On the flyer stood: 'Special appearance by Madonna!' They had a large cardboard standee for Madonna's movie, Who's That Girl? set up by the band, and Billie kept jumping on it through the set."
