The Novel Sound: "First saw Green Day for $5 at AS220 in Providence back in '91/'92."
medeiroschrissy: "My favorite band since I was 13 when you played AS220 in Providence way back. Then so many great big shows after. I'm 40 this year and y'all still rock."
Vinyl Noize: "Funny side story – the same friend that first got me into Green Day saw them play some really early East Coast shows. I think one was at a grange hall and one was a basement show."
Damon: "And a shout-out to my Rhode Island sister, Josephine. You were probably too young to see Green Day at the Skate Hut in Olneyville or AS220 on Richmond Street (in what is now Jerky's) in 1992, but they haven't changed a bit (other than the stage is a little bigger and Tre's dad isn't driving their tour van). There's a lot of bands that walk in their footsteps, but none of them would be here without the relentless touring those guys did for years."
