Chuck Berry passed away last Friday, March 18th, at the age of 90 in his home outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Berry was an integral piece in the birth of not just the music side of Rock and Roll but the social aspect as well. He was one of the first musicians inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at its inaugural induction ceremony in 1986.

This isn't the first time the band has played "Johnny B. Goode" as they have long been playing the song during rehearsals and practices. Billie Joe has mentioned in the past that it is one of the first songs he learned to play on guitar. Check out this pro-shot performance of their cover from a concert in Germany in 2004. The last time they played the song in public was in 2009 as the Foxboro Hot Tubs in England.
