Last night, the band appeared at a Dookie tribute show at their hometown Fox Theater. A different local artist or band performed one of each of the 14 tracks from the original album, and proceeds from the show went to 924 Gilman (the club Green Day frequented prior to 1994).

Green Day didn't play at the show, but they were onstage to talk about what 924 Gilman and the local community meant to them. The show was the main event, but to highlight a very special night, the mayor of the city of Oakland presented the band with a surprise:

In addition, to the show the artists recorded an album of Dookie covers -- we're not sure if or when this album will be available to the public, but we'll update you as soon as we get the info. Undercover Presents, a San Francisco musicians collective, sponsored and put on the event. Here's a quick video from their site that features snippets of the eclectic artists' recorded covers:
