[pic=Rocksmith 2014]100413_rsz_cover_large.jpg[/pic]TheRiffRepeater.com reports that a trailer shown at the recent Tokyo Game Show showed "X-Kid" from ¡TRÉ! as one of the available songs on the upcoming Rocksmith 2014 game. "X-Kid" isn't yet listed on the Rocksmith site, but will take up one of the 20-or-so "To Be Announced" spots. It was previously assumed that Green Day's catalogue was licensed exclusively to Harmonix's RockBand, but it seems that this is not the case. The game will also feature songs from Aerosmith, Jack White, Muse, Nirvana, The Who, and The Kinks, among many others.

Rocksmith is a guitar-based music game, similar to games like Guitar Hero. The big difference is that Rocksmith allows players to plug a real guitar or bass directly into the game console using a supplied adapter cord. This makes for not only a great playing experience, but also apparently builds technical guitar skills as well. As a guitar player who started learning the hard way at the age of 10, I'm admittedly skeptical. But, either way, I'm positive that this game would be a great time, and I'll probably pick up the 2014 edition.

Rocksmith 2014 is set for an October 22 release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, and Mac. The game is $79.99 including the USB - 1/4" input cord, and $59.99 without this cord (for those who bought the previous version of Rocksmith). One other good tidbit that comes from this story: we'll likely get multi-tracks (the separated original instrument tracks from the song) for "X-Kid." Hopefully we see those floating around at some point!
