The other day we posted that Kerrang! Magazine had a story that included "exclusive" information about the follow up to '21st Century Breakdown'.

As we expected, the article has nothing more then a few lines stating that Green Day has started to write songs for their next album. The most interesting part of the article that I found was when Billie said that they pulled out some older equipment that they used while recording the 'Kerplunk!' album.

"We dragged out old gear that we used on [1992 album] Kerplunk. We just wanted to see what it would sound like. And man it was terrible! The idea was to see what we would sound like these days playing through that old equipment, kind of take us back to ground zero."
